I've seen many of these little guys zooming around on our rocks. Most of them are around a 1/16" long.
Sorry for the lack of detail in the picture but it's as good as I could get. I couldn't tell if they have eyes or not. Possible to ID? Thanks for all the help! |

Ah, I can see the little spirals now. Spirorbid (featherduster) worms.

Just discovered this today in my 3 month old nano, kinda looks like aiptasia but when i battled it in my other tank they were all clear or a brown tint this is purple and not clear.
Sorry for the poor quality pic but not much room between the tank and wall had to stick my phone in and take pics blindly. |

Lots of different types & colors of aiptasia. Looks like one to me.

Oh well, thanks for the ID. Was hoping it'd be something else, its in a bad spot on the bottom piece of rock in my formation, luckily I have a friend with a highpowered laser pointer I can borrow hopefully I have enough room to get a shot at it. Guess I'll grab a couple peppermint shrimps too I'm sure thats not the only one in there.

Looking in my tank tonight and saw quite of few of these 'arms' sticking out of a colony of zoas. They are grayish with black stripes, long and thin and are moving about. I've tried searching but haven't had any luck figuring this out. Honestly don't seem to bother the zoas.
