Very well executed!! The rack doesn't anything away from the Razor's sexiness, the cords are invisible, and wow that's awesome coverage. Well done!

Just ordered the 120 for my JBJ 30 rimless cube. I am a bit nervous, as I am transfering from an 8 Gallon cadlights, with LOTS of SPS. I have a nano-box led on the 8g. Good results, but decided to try these. Those with SPS dominated tanks, what setting do you use. My tank is about 17" deep, so I assume it will be intense enough. Really want to focus on SPS and see some good growth. Any thoughts, gotchas, or experiences is greatly appreciated.

wow! I skimmed through this thread as I recently got the Nano Razor for my 37 gal. column. Really like this light fixture but was using the pre-set settings from the factory and I noticed a lot of algae forming. I want to dial it back several notches and have recently begun experimenting with the adjustable settings. anyone else who is using the Razor Nano, how did you configure your settings for the various time periods. Any input appreciated. It's a FOWLR for now but I plan to introduce some softies.

Is there anyone running a 120w 20" fixture on their 36" wide tank? I have seen many tanks with the 160w 27" but am curious about the former.
If I missed any posts covering this I apologize but I have read many pages and used the search tool and haven't been able to find anything. |

It won't be strong enough. You will get shadows. The 27" isn't even enough.

Couple of pictures - more later
Hi,
Here are couple of quick shots from my ~350 liter (~90-100 gallons) tank with brand new 300W 16000K Razor. In these shots lamp is running in 55% on both channels. There are also 2x strips of Tropic Marin ultrablue leds, they work as phase controlled moonlight under the Profilux computer system. And daytime they are running 100% to bring even more light. I have been very happy with the Razor even though it has been there just couple of weeks. I'll post more photos as now lamp is running 80%/90% level and tank is really bright. Have to take some macro shots with dicing camera as well. Tank is two years old but full of just SPS frags as it is recovering from major crash where something like 80% of SPS went RTN (caused by super hyper high ALK and super pure water with BP biopellets). It will be interesting to see how these corals start to grow under Razor. |

the razor looks great on these tanks. @ Sean2sean I like how you were able to get wider distribution by configuring the nano's front 2 back

Question about the hanging kit. I need to lower my light. It looks lke the slide thing for the cables is only one way? Meaning I need to take the loop out (with the little clamp with 2 small screws) then feed it all the way back through, and then feed it thru again?
Also, how far above the water do most people run these? I have the 120 over a 30 gallon JBJ RL.

You can lift the small part on the underside (or upside - one side has a smaller thing protruding from it) of the "sliding thing" (push it into the sliding thingy) and then it lets you move the cable in both directions.

Here's my Maxspect Razor Nano 16000k over my 29g Biocube.
I've only had this light up for a week on this tank but so far I'm loving it. (Tang will be getting moved into a bigger tank)

Hey guys, joining the maxspect razor club!
I got the 10k 60watt nano version. New to the saltwater keeping scene, i got a 30cm by 30cm cube pretty much. The lights are 30cm above water level. Today i set it 70% A and B channel, what setting do you guys recommend me setting it for with the information i provided above. Dont want to kill corals at high end or low end either. want to be at a happy medium to keep sps too. (pretty much a rough number for me to start at, got no idea at lighting for reef, no par meter) Any help is much appreciated. |

I keep reading this forum and watching Youtube videos on this light. I really don't care for the bluish tone except at night (actinic) so should I get the 10,000k? I definatetly don't want it to be yellow. Decisions, decisions....

Pictures do the lights no justice. Hard to get rid of the blue look.. In person they look great. Totally agree you should get the 16k.

+1^^^ I got the 16k and the only time it's too blue is when I only have the blue ones on.

so are you saying the pictures I am seeing are showing a more "blue" look and it is not that blue in person? I don't want to make a mistake. It also looks like most people do not run this light at full intensity on a smaller tank. Is it safe to assume I can dial down the blue and the light will still give enough light out for my corals?
