Tswifty,
I thought I saw you mention you have a Mystery Wrasse somewhere in this thread. Are you worried about it jumping? I love those fish and would like to have one in my new rimless build.

Yes I have a Mystery Wrasse in the tank. She seems to keep to the bottom 1/4 of the tank, and usually doesn't venture out too far from the rocks.

I'm trying not to mention my opinion on them, because I don't want to tempt fate.

Thanks. Ever since it colored up, it's one of my favorite pieces. I just keep breaking it or knocking it off the rocks and having to re-glue it, so the growth hasn't been as good as it should be. My Tyree Ponape is up there as well, and has been growing like crazy.

Here's a quick growth progression:

I don't think it's been that long... maybe 4 or 5 months? I think you need an EXIF viewer or something to see the dates of the pics since photobucket no longer lists it. I fragged it for the first time a week or two ago, and was very nervous in doing so. It's another piece that I constantly knock off the rocks, but growth hasn't seemed to slow down from it.

The frag in the first pic was on a 1/2" frag plug. Now it's about the size of a racquetball.

Nice pics TJ.
love the pink mille.
Do you still have that fluorescent green millepora you had that browned out few months earlier and did it recover?

Thanks Maroun. Yes I still have the Green Millepora... however it was determined that it's actually a Acropora Tenuis, and not an Acropora Millepora. I always thought the polyps looked a bit different, but it took a close up shot for some others and myself to go "wait a sec?"

The colony became infected with Red Bugs, and I treated my system with Interceptor. Here was the struggling colony, and path to recovery... it's still not 100% IMO, but getting there. I think the bacteria dosing has also helped.

Well I'm done with the Red Sea Coral Pro salt. I made up a small 5 gallon batch today and the alkalinity tested at 13.8 dKH.

Salifert tests come with a calibration solution so you can check the accuracy. The test was off a little, but not enough to seriously skew the results. I figure the worst case scenario is that it's off 0.5 dKH to the high side.

How long did you wait? IME, for some reason, *freshly* mixed salt water tests funky high for alk.

Yeah this was only around 6 hours because I needed to remove some water for the display to dip some new frags. Usually I mix new saltwater overnight. However, the previous 10g batch I let mix overnight tested at 13.4 dKH.

I know, I was pleasantly surprised. It'll be nice not having to grow things from 1/2" clippings for once.

No problem, thanks again for the pieces!

I'll have to get a pic of the Purple Unknown tomorrow.

My PL was 1/2 when I purchased it from Hugo /Sniper SPS a few years ago when the coral first showed up. I begged him for the frag. it was 90$

Its now a giant. Once its happy it will encrust like crazy. and get huge.

Hey Tj, how much Kalkwasser do you put in your reactor and what is its water volume? How often do you refill it?
