I will try and post some pics tonight. The tabs I am reffering to are the ones located on the end of the bulb. On the socket itself, it has a slot with the metal clip that holds the bulb. On the slot in the socket above the metal clip there are two ceramic tabs that more or less guide the bulb into place. The issue I ran into was that the ceramic tab on the bulb, would bottom out on the two ceramic tabs in the socket before the bulb could seat itself into the metal clip without popping out.

So I figured I wasn't pushing hard enough, and then it happened, I guess I pushed to hardand the tab on the bulb broke (whoops). After that, I was able to push the bulb all the way into the socket and have it remain seated.

IMO, I would go w/ SE, alot of time they have more par, especially because you do not need to use a uv lens. Plus, if you decide you can go w/ 400 watt w/ SE bulbs.

They are prob. about the same, one will be able to be hung higher, so if you make a canopy to put them in one canopy will need to be taller or have an open space in the middle to hang the pendants higher than the rest of the canopy. Look at the way JRaquatics did his canopy if you want to go with the LB's, they really are IMO the best way to go.

No kidding. It seems as if everyone else that was on this thread is watching their corals grow.

Interesting thread! I read the whole thread and I don't see many folks with narrower tanks like my 90. I am hooked on the iwasaki 175's, got the ballasts and the bulbs so that is what I will be running. I am considering these reflectors (anything has to be better then my spiders). I lack the equipment to test lighting at different heights. I would think that with a narrower tank and lower wattage bulbs you would want to go a bit lower to the water. I want to illuminate in the tank, not the area around it so the idea is to keep the light pattern relitively tight. With that being said, how high off the water would you go?

my tank is only 24" wide and the lights are about 12" above using the LB mini's. I hardly get any light spill over and gtreat penetration

The Minis would work well with your tank dimensions. I purchased my light set up from Reef Specialty. Since then I have bought all my reef items from Mike at RS. Best customer service by far IMO.

I will get you the pics you requested in a few.

There are plenty of RC sponsors who have them as well. I would support our sponsors as much as we can. :-)
