Oh, you're welcome, db! I totally know what you mean by mounting the Koralias on the front glass, too. I just did it to try it out, and it's working remarkably well for me (you should have seen all that debris it kicked-up!).

I know it's a major pain, but when you get it right you're going to realize it was worth the fight... especially if your corals are happy.

Oh, btw... do you have any pics of your setup? Sounds like your lighting is similar to mine (per your sig) and if that's the case, you should have no problem keeping SPS and clams under that setup.

***EDIT, EDIT!***
Wooo hooo!!! Page 32!

id suggest a minimum of 4" because thats enough room for a hang on refugium or hang on skimmer and enough room to get your hands behind it, you may never consider the hang on but its an option if you leave a decent gap

I made it Ocean. It's real wood, 3/4" plywood frame and 3/4" skin on the front. The trim is solid wood and all of it is maple. The doors are the way they are so that they match the desk in my office.

Hello dutch. I have 2 K 3's in my 54 and am not happy with the flow. I have them on the opposing side walls pointed towards each other.

Thanks for the merry welcome flipsideleo and michael. Its good to see that there are other corner reefers sharing valuable info that will save me some of the trial and error that I might have gone through otherwise. I will try to post some pics as soon as I can flipside.

WOW!!!! I just got dont with the first 7 pages of this thread! Already wish i could re-work my tank! I guess i'm pretty happy with my rockwork, but i'm waiting for my LFS to get in some more branch rock so i can make a few bridges and cave type spots. They said they're trying to get Fiji branch? I've never heard of this before, but i'll take it if they get it! I am going to try putting my Korallias on the curved front glass and see if i can get better flow onto my rocks.

Beautiful tank, reefscape15! I think it's a great candidate in trying the powerheads off the front glass. Hey, you can always move them when company comes over, right?

And just look at that big ole' open sandbed just screaming for a plate coral! Very nice.

reefscape15 & dutchbros, Welcome to our lil club, like I said earlier, I do not envy being in your position, however there is alot of good information & ideas there.
This is an extremely informative thread, I know that as much info or movement as we've had here, we are probably still to slow for our own specialty forum, but I definitely do beleive we have enough to get our own Corner Club Sticky Thread, either in this forum or in Reef discussion forum. Lets see what the mods say when we tell them we 30+ pages, 750+ post & 55+ members. Talk about Corner tank success even if that is still a minimal number in the population, it should be enough to find us a spot where we can all continue to gather, support each other & trade ideas.

Bernie - I hope so!!!! It would be great to see it on a forum instead of under my favorites!

Flipside - Thank you so much! I just got the rock layed out about a month ago and my 250watt 20k is comming in tonight. I have a small orange plate coral, but want to do a clam lagoon on the sand and down the back corner of the tank. What do you think?

Esquare- is the flow not enough with the k3s? or do you just not like the flow pattern? I am doing the same as you with a k2 and mj900 but maybe you talked me out of it.

Due to my aquascaping and the corner tank design, I don't feel that I am getting enough flow to all parts of the tank. The flow itself is adequate; it's just not being sufficiently dispersed.

With the whole flow issue in these tanks, i was trying to find a good spot to put a Korallia 1 and 3, but i'm tired of messing around and getting a Korallia 4 which i understand you can use the Maxi-Jet mods on to get over 2000 gph. Then take impeller from the 4 and put it in the 3, which is supposed to up flow as well. Now i just have to see if i can get the impeller from the 3 to fit into the 1. I am hoping to have flow not just pointing somewhere, but making the whole tank a tsunami/whirlpool/super-surge-o-rama!!!! Again i have to say that this community comes up with some of the best ideas! There's so much knowledge packed into one place, it's amazing!

Bernie - By the way my Brother graduated from UM in 2003. That campus is the most beautiful place to live! I love Florida, and hope to leave upstate NY sometime soon!

250W 20K? Nice! That should be great for clams!

Yeah, getting the right amount of flow isn't a problem with our tanks... it's getting it dispersed efficiently that gets us.

Its pvc pipe painted black. I'll snap some new pics of my corner. Its changed completly since the last time i put some pics on here. It has about 15 or so new frags in it

Thanks for the welcome! I am so in love with my tank, and i don't think i'll ever have a traditional rectangle ever again. I would love to have a huge tank sometime (300+), and with all the designs out there, why would anyone want a plain old box? I'd really like a 470gal room divider with wave fronts on each side, and a bullnose on the end. I'd prob have to go custom, but i saw someone online with this setup before and it was sweet! Anyways back to my current corner - I stopped into my LFS yesterday and they were just unbagging a new shipment of frags and fish. They had a Table Acro that was about 1.5" with 3 small branches and wanted $80. It was a neon green base with BRIGHT red polyps and tips! I've never seen this before, and wanted to know if it's overpriced in your opinion. I would love that coral, but don't know if i would be able to find it somewhere else maybe not so pricey. Please let me know!

Reefscape15,
Its kind of hard to say without a picture, however if the coral is bright green with red polyps thats a unique table. Selecting frags are like selecting an art peice, if you like it you better buy it because it might not be there next time. Hope this helps...

Yea i should've gotten it when i had the chance huh? It was really awesome looking, but i just talked my wife into buying an $80 MH bulb, and i just droped almost $150 in there last week, so she's probably ready to kill me by now! I'm headed back there today, and i'll see if i can get a picture or something if it's still there
