Question: are the AUX boards in additions to the main LED boards? Meaning: adding an AUX LED board adds to the total number of LEDs on the fixture? Do theses AUX LEDs use the same drivers? How does all of this work?

Does anyone know what type/brand of LEDs are on the UV, RED and RB AUX modules? Especially for the Royal Blues, they'll need to match the brightness of the 200 or 260 series? How will it match both fixtures?

Thank you, that is great news, I won't be sacrificing PAR for spectrum. How many AUX modules can be added per 12"?

Does anyone know when the Vertex Illumina SR320 will be available? I have a 60g cube (24"x24"x24") and would like to get your input on which fixture is best. I know the 1' fixture would be enough to light this tank, but I like the idea of getting a 2' with the possibility of adding 3 auxiliary modules for better spectrum. Are the red, green, and UV all separate modules or does Vertex mix them together on one pad? Any suggestions?

Currently the available modules are royal Blue red and UV to date. A 2' fixture would give you more expandability and allow to a slightly larger tank upgrade and like you said additional modules. However both the 200 and 260 would be more than sufficient for that size tank. I don't think you need the 320.
Hope that helps Rob |

V Link question,
So out of the box i see you've got to have the vlink no more than 6ft from the light to link up and program. My question is after the initial programing does this vlink have to maintain that <6' distance in order to make any changes or am I able to exceed that 6' distance? |

You want to stay within 6' or so to maintain the link. Use a laptop, closer the better when loading the program.

For those of you who have had this fixture for a while, have you encountered any problems? Does Vertex provide excellent customer service and support? Thanks.

Never needed no service here, so can't comment on that.
But the are very well built, I doubt there will be a need for warranty support! I installed the RED AUX. in a few minutes and opened the fixture and must say being in electronics they did a good Job desiging this thing. I've been an Elos fan for years but have owned a few of Vertex products and never needed any service. they do put a lot into desiging their products. I did lose the bearing of my Alpha pump during maintenance and called Premium they had it in stock and send out right away. My only beef here is why the UV software has taken so long! I emailed Vertex directly and they explained that they are changin the Vertx Desktop to support more than what it already does, so I can understand never the less does not kill the itch to have the damn thing. Cheers, Dave |

Did anyone else see this posted on the Vertex Aquaristik FB page today?
"Hello Friends, i know that there are some people waiting for getting there hands on the NEW Firmware for their UV Pads. I would like to invite all of them to get tonight their hands on the latest BETA release Candidate we have in the moment. We would like to hear your voice by making this piece of software. Please keep also in mind that it "can" have issues we didn't see but all the test so far shows that this Version works. If you think that you are the right person to try and test this Software please send just your email with a short description of your Skills with Software to me at nicolas@vertexaquaristik.de Within the next hours we will send out the latest and probably most stable Version only to people who know that it is not a official Stable release so far. If you are not sure to handle such a piece of software just wait another one or two days and I'm sure you will appreciate the work we did to make it a final release. thank you all for your continuous support and feedback. Nicolas @ Vertex"

I will send you a pic next week. I only have after pictures that are worth looking at but shold be easy turing the red off and tak pics. However the corals have changed color after having the red onboard for about a week. Very noticeable change I would say. much richer looking since I use heavy zeo and my corals were always on the pale side. All I can say is that the red is awesome, makes a huge difference. Also its such a dominant color that I think one Red Aux for every 2 feet is more than enough. I have mine at 30% and see a huge diffrence between ON and OFF. I strongly recommend these. I can't wait for the UV module though. There was a thread in the Aussie forum how someone made his own UV fixture and the coral's color shift was insane. maybe Rodney can post a link I couldn't find it in my fav. Cheers, Dave |

I just joined the club. I went ahead and ordered the SR200 600mm with a red module. I'm holding off on the UV pads until Vertex has the firmware ready to run them. Is anyone on here using the tank mounting brackets?
