Ive had several ATI fixtures on my previous reef tanks with a 3 to 1 (Blue plus to Fiji purple color) and loved the color

I want to supplement my current set up for dawn and dusk, got a Radium 250 set up on a lumatek electronic ballast set to 250 watts on a Hamilton large pendant.

I have 3 LED ecoxotic panorama pros royal blue and magenta leds which are a little to dim for dawn and dusk on my 240g 48x48x24 cube set up.

Would like to add maybe 4 T5s (2 on each side of the pendant) Gonna use sunlight supply ready fit T5 retros.

8am LEDs ON
9am T5s ON
11am Radium ON
4pm Radium OFF
6pm T5s OFF
7pm LEDs OFF

Would I go 2 Blue plus and 2 Purple plus?

Grim you suggested a 3 to 1 ratio, how or what can I do with my set up? I would like to keep 2 bulbs on each side or something like that

Here is a pic of my set up...

Is that the order of the bulbs I should in the fixture from front to back or just the bulbs I should add in no particular order?

Cubes are a pain in the butt to do Hybrid lighting on. I'd maybe look at doing Blue Pluses all the way around the halide (4) and then grab some of the magenta stunner LED's and place one 12" unit between the T5 and Halide all the way around. They are so weak I don't think it will come close to overpowering the blues but should be enough to bring out more color with just the T5's running.

I'm setting up a 40g breeder (36"x18"x16") as a grow out/frag tank for softies, LPS and SPS. I have decided on T5's...either the 36" Tek or Tek Elite fixture.
a.) what would be best, 4 or 6 bulbs at 39w each?
b.) What would your bulb recommendation be?

Thanks!!

Would depend on what other bulbs it would be with and the color preference of the person living with it. The new Generation is good, as well as many of the so called 10,000K bulbs. If you want a real blue effect then the AquaBlue Special or even the Coral plus.

There is just too much personal taste here to put one over any of the others.

Purple plus a little front of center and the GE just rear of center with a blue between them if possible.

Hi guys

It is time to change my bulbs. I have a 8x54W ATI Sunpower and have recently been using KZ bulbs:
2 x KZ New Generation
1 x KZ Fiji Purple
3 x KZ Super Blue
2 x KZ Coral Light

My retailer only sells ATI bulbs now so this is what I am looking at. I would like a combo a little more blue and a tad more red/pink than the above.

Do you think that a combo of these ATI bulbs will be okay?:
2 x Coral Plus
4 x Blue Plus
2 x Purple Plus

Should be close to what you are looking for. Grab an extra Blue Plus just in case. If it isn't blue enough for you pull a coral plus and throw the extra Blue Plus in it's place.

Thanks a lot! I will give that a try.

Any recommendations on how to place them front to back?

With a Coral Plus you should be fairly Blue. What I have been told is that two Coral Plus bulbs = roughly 1 Blue Plus and one Aqua Blue Special. I think your idea will give you a slightly more blue look than you are used to. So it could be what you want. You want to also be cautious not to overdoo the Reds because too much red starts giving a negative effect on some corals.
