I am ordering a 4 way unit from Paul today and I have a plumbing question. I would like to have more than 4 returns in my tank. Is it possible to come off of one of the 4 outlets on the Oceanmotions and have 3 returns? Could I make the middle one a revolution and have the other two be normal outputs? Would the revolution work?

To answer your question, you could make as many outlets branch off from each outlet as you want. I'm guessing the revolution would work in that coniguration as long as you are getting enough water pressure to it. |

If your Rose Anemone is any indicator, the flow is good as it appears to be very happy.

Ok heres my new HD 4way on an ampmaster 2700 (soon to swap out impellers to make a 3600) plumbed into the bottom of my new 120.
![]() I will change the plumbing on the right side to eliminate the extra 90s (change of plan half way through) heres a side shot, showing it doesnt take up much space under in the stand. ![]() Here Im filling the tank for the first time to check for leaks. NONE! The 45s are temporary, they will remain in the front, but cut down so their not so ugly. Even after I filled the 24" tall tank, water still rolls quite nicely at the surface. After it was full I tried to remove a 45, and water started splashing out the top. ![]()

Dave, why use any 90°'s at all? Looks like you can go straight out of the HD 4 way with the flex straight up into the tank. Point all your valves straight down.
BTW, nice tank ![]()

wow, I just read all 33 pages...only took me about 3 hours too. Good stuff, great product.
Im currently purchasing a 75 AGA with a overflow (they call it a megaflow). Apparently the company says the overflow can take 600GPH. The intake is 1" and the return is 3/4". I plan on having a sump with refug under the tank. Is it possible to somehow have a oceans 4 system with this stuff only and no closed loop just for the 4? Does that make sense? Would it be too much flow for the refuge? I guess what im asking is, is it possible to run the oceans 4 off the 3/4 return, and would it get enough flow? If this doesnt make sense in the morning, Ill try to rephrase it...late at night + 3 hours reading = crappy thought process. ![]() John |

I have dual overflows in my 75 AGA. The overflows are 1". The return from the pump is 3/4 with a fitting to enlarge it to 1". the plumbing up to the 4way is 1"then it is reduced to3 /4 on the output side of the 4way. Im using a mag 12 for my return im getting excellant flow with this setup. I don't need any PH in the tank with this setup. the overflows are rated at 700gph each I have a 5 foot head loss so I guessing it's arroung 1000 gph flow through the tank. Hope that helps

Thanks

These obviously cut down a pump's flow rate by a fair percentage (w/ all the angles, etc) but, what amount? Has it been tested?
