one can only run the simulation once the program is loaded into the lamp. Any light colour you save, can only be used in the program it was saved in, it's not there for other/future lighting programs |

I am watching the vid now.
First problem I see is that when I hit composer I do not get the pop up window you see. I must not have the proper software properly set up

Micheal, that video is just what i needed..
simple and easy to follow.. thanks!! it made me realize (I did suspect, already) that my crapy little laptop does not display the entire light composer page... I don't know if it is a java thing, or what, but at least now i know how to compose a project and the minute i figure out my laptop issues, composing a light project will be a snap! originally, I had wanted to program each individual led separately with their own time schedule, but with the composer, you can pretty much do that with the sliders in any given 'k' option.. just throw up a time slot and a 'k' option, tweak it to your taste and move to the next time slot... nothing could be easier...

Michael
It would be really good if the window displaying each time and intensity setting was bigger so we could at least see 8 lines. I think most would not use more than this and it would save scrolling through. Would make programming same times easier.

start with two and you will likely find thats enough really, but option 3 if you want massive power

Ghl says the mitras will cover a 36x30 inch area.
So technically two. Personally, though, if it'll be an sps tank, I would put 3. Heck, I put 3 over my tank and its 53x32x26... Granted some may call me crazy, but I am loving the coverage! If you are doing a mixed reef, two might do just fine..

Anyone else have an issue when trying to connect the Mitras to the computer with the error message - The last USB device connected malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. Try to reconnect and if Windows don't recognize it your device may not be working properly.
I tried it with two units, and get the same error. The control center does not detect the device for a connection. Thank you for your help. I am running Windows 8. |

its a windows issue with win8 where win8 demands a signature, the topic is covered in the mitras section on the support forum for your assistance.
Rumour has it windows 8.1 is going back to win7 USB architecture as its hard to connect anything with it.

we created a new driver for the Mitras, this driver has a signature and the Win 8 problems should disappear with this
the new driver is included in the new GHL Control Center, version 1.0.3.0, available for download from today on -> please install the new GCC http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/do...?do=file&id=96 Included is the new driver when connecting the lamp

Can someone please help!
I have the trouble connecting. New computer. I am running Windows 7 (64bit) via Parallels on a Mac, both systems fully updated. I cannot connect to the Mitras. The COM wasn't showing on the device manager so I manually installed it with the GHL driver. however it says: "GHL Virtual Communications Port, Software installed but may not work correctly. This device cannot start" I have downloaded the 1.0.3.0 software, though I cannot remember the firmware the lights are running. I have followed these steps 1. Follow Michael's guidance about resetting windows bug for deleting the COM/LPT port and make sure COM/LPT now is displayed DONE 2. attached the Mitras to a USB port making sure the cable is firmly plugged in DONE 3. Open Mitras software DONE 4. Click on administration and then device manager DONE 5. Note what COM port the driver is using DONE 6 Double click the mitras shown in the connection tab and edit the COM port to match 7. close the dialogue box and click connect DONE 1. Uninstall the software DONE 2. Go to device manager and make sure that COM and LPT are now showing, if not please revert back to my original advise on fixing this DONE 3. Reload software DONE 4. Connect Mitras and follow last step by step advise. DONE Please help!

Hello, can you please tell me when the Mitras in black will be available to ship in the US? I have ordered 2 black ones two weeks ago but still have not gotten a ship date.
Thank you, Mark Strohman |

I have given up on the Firmware fix. Cannot find the LPT number / cant get the driver to work
I did like the video though and have managed to make a program or two. My challenge is that no matter what I set the lamp to percentage wise it will no go over 50ish percent on the chart. I click show on lamp, set to 80% but when I am done programing it goes back down to under 60% on the graph It is on High Output and set to 100% in the power tab The output just isnt very much as it is. Softies like it but the SPS not so much

this is because the temperarture % has absolute no relation to the intensity %
Ignore the temp % and just set the lamp to the intensity % you deire, but please be careful not to burn your corals.

Also check to make sure the "rainy days" feature. I had mine on all 7 days at 60% and for a while couldnt figure out the end result was dimmer than what it was suppose to be. Shut off rainy days and all is good.
