A 90 plus you're going to use at least one more 90 and/or a 45. That can add up. It'd be nice to get an idea when planning your pump.

Mike1210,
The unit itself is basically a single 90 elbow that rotates through 360 degrees. However many other 90 degree elbows you add on is up to you. So you should be able to calculate head loss etc fairly easily using the RC calculator.

doody - he is testing a nano version!!!!

mikeo1210 - calculate it on the RC head calculator. this is pretty much the BEST unit for flow. 2" inlet and 1" or 1.5" outlets. you tell me what wavemaker has that BIG of size so no flow is restricted.

hey guys, what is the best pump to run the 4way unit? I'm currently running a Iwaki MD 30Rxlt 900GPH @4' connected to a SCWD plus 2, 1200 maxi-jets and I would like to replace them and the SCWD with this awesome unit . is the iwaki enough? or should I go bigger?
Thanks

i just received the 4 way and will be plumbing it to a blueline 30 HDX which should give me about 1000 at 3ft.try it if it doesn't give you the flow you want then try to get a bigger pump and hold it back some.

Im using a mag 12. I must say I now have excellant flow. I did add 2 maxijet 450 in each corner so as the unit rotates I still have some flow in that area

There really is no "Best Pump". It all depends on your tank's needs and your desires.

I am not sure, but these will handle 1 gph to over 5,000 gph.

Anyone else with a 4-way recieve a FREE improvement package? I got one yesterday. It came with new screws which use an allen wrench rather than a socket. Also came with the allen wrench and a vinyl disk. The vinyl disk is for an added vapor barrier. A BIG THUMBS UP to Paul.

The vapor barrier protects the electronics that are in there from moisture. I have also noticed a small hole drilled where the cord is on the newer models. does yours have this.

David P,
Any new pics showing your plumbing and aquascaping? I am thinking of doing mine like yours; from under the tank.

Well it isn't done but I thought I would post a pic anyway. This is my 280gal in-wall with an 8-way mounted to a Dolphin 4700.

1.5" input to 8 1" outputs, many of which are split again into 2 3/4" lines allowing 3/4 locline on the interior and 3/4" revolutions on top.

1" Revolutions: Any timetable on production???? not that it matters too much because I still don't have water in the tank, but getting close. The suspense is killing me. Everybody that comes over thinks it is some sort of spider with all the arms and "tees" I have coming from the unit. Can't wait to see it actually move some water.

Geez, I get enough junk mail every day. I don't need ten more that say "tag." In case you didn't know it, there is an icon on the bottom of EVERY page that says "Subscribe to this Thread." Please use it instead of "tag" and help reduce junk mail.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine.
