Well I received a used computer heatsink/fan, I attatched this to the top of the oceans motion motor. With just the heat sink (fan not running) the motor was noticibly cooler. I turned the fan on last night and when I got home today the water temp dropped to 81.4. I also dropped the MH lights closer to the water. Guess I should have waited to do that to see what the temp difference was. I still want to tear the OM apart and double check my fittings. Maybe Ill do that this evening.

What is the care package from Paul that you guys are talking about? Is there some modification that is now suggested on the unit? I have an HD 4-way that is exactly how it was received about a month ago, am I missing something? Thanks

Pics of my 8 Way

I have my plumbing 95% done and figured I would post a couple of pics of Paul's unit.

Rear of tank. This includes plumbing for the 8 way(blue dots) Another closed loop with 3 returns currently, and the return from the sump is split 4 times.

Close up of the 8-Way

Now, if I just had two more 4-ways, I would be set.

The care package comes with replacement nylon bolts. Instead of using a thin wall socket, you use an included allen wrench. It also includes a vapor barrior for the motor.

I just tore apart my 4 way and found some white pvc chips from all my plumbing(a couple good sized pieces too) stuck in the 4way (I thought I had tank completely cleaned out...) and the drum was kinda stuck. After I carefully removed the drum and cleaned out all the junk, the drum slid back in and turned real nice and smooth. So Im hoping that was the culprit for the heat build up. Besides a mystery Oring that didnt belong in the oceans motion (I was determined to fit it in there) the whole unit came apart and went back together very nicely. I really applaud Paul for such a beautifully simple and effective design!

That's what I said about 20% into it. But it was too late by then.

There is around 70 feet of 1" and 1-1/4" spa flex there.

Thanks, the remainder of my equipment will be here on monday and I will post the rest once I am done with the plumbing and painting. I may make the 2 jets that are coming down into the back middle of each side into a spraybar, but I am going to try it this way first.

I am excited to finally come close to getting water in this thing, I have been working on it for 6 months now and my wife is killing me. By the way this is in the middle of my living room in a 1 bedroom condo. Located front of my other tank. All the woodwork was done on my Lanai and I have been written up 6 times for excessive noise.

Just wanted to let you all know that Custom Aquatics is now selling the Sequence Reefflo Stingray for $229. I think that's a pretty good price, no?
