Thank you michael. I know GHL doesnt suggest using their current model in a canopy but do you know of anyone that is?

I do and as always at their risk but what users tend to do is put large holes (vents) in the lid and have side vents with fans blowing through. I do not and can not advocate this but yes people do this.

thank you for your response Michael. My new tank wont have water in it until Arpil or May but if they introduce the new version at interzoo in June Im guessing it wont be available for retail sale for until a few months after that.

Quick question for 60 cube owners or anyone else with advice
I just switched over to my 60 cube and I just put my Mitras over it. I run Rodney's profile shifted a couple hours for my preferences. The question I have is this... What mode would anyone recommend I run and at what percentage? I currently have it running on "High Efficiency" at %100. Is that too much? The specs state High Efficiency at %100 is equivalent to a 250w Metal Halide, which I used to run over this tank. Thoughts? Thank you! Don

I just run mine flat out high output on an 18 inch high cube, it might pay to start off a bit lower and raise it over the coming weeks. Either that or just keep an eye on how your corals react to it. Could really do with an acclimation feature like the Radion.

All my corals were under it in the previous tank at %65. It was a 28 gallon nano cube. I placed all the corals at the bottom to start off with and I will move them up over the next couple weeks. I'm also running 4 T5's along side the Mitras, 2 ATI Blue+ and 2 Giesemann Pure Actinic. The color is good, just waiting for the tank to clear up now...

How many GHL Mitras do I need for a 72"x24"x20" (150G) reef aquarium? Are two enough?
I will be keeping 20% SPS corals and the rest will be polyps, clams, xenia and LPS corals.

With proper placement of the sps and clams, two should be enough.
They'd need to be placed parallel to the tank like this: ----------- --- --- -----------

In consideration how many work GHL has with all the new products and software I think this feature is very very low on the todo list. http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/sh...mation-Routine http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/sh...kklimatisation http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/sh...kklimatisation

Would one work for my 75 gal. 36" long x 24" wide x 20" deep. I plan on having mixed sps and lps reef.
And who selling them in California ?

For a mixed reef I think you should be ok with proper placement. I'm currently running two mitras' on the same foot print like yours. I can basically place SPS anywhere under two fixtures.

Hello,
I have been having trouble finding the (2 sided threaded screw) to mount my GHL Mitras from the ceiling. I have checked Home Depot, Rona, Brafasco, Lowes and other lighting stores in Toronto. I have been told that the hanging bolt provided with the Mitras is Metric 0.6 in size. Hence need a compatible screw that goes in. Most of the above stores do not stock this Metric size but only stock Imperial. I really need to get this screw if anyone can help me where i can get it. Without which I'm not able to hang my Mitras LED. Current tank in making - 93 Gallon Reef Starphire Rimless cube.30x30x24. |

I simply got the correct screw for the ceiling then shaved the head of the screw down so it fitted in the supplied assy.
