I swear I have seen that on another forum and basically plan to copy the entire build haha ! The aqua-roche rocks are wicked. I plan on doing something very similiar only barebottom. In a 24" cube the cadlights seems to not be able to be beat on price right now and Eddie is great. Thanks for the pic!

Garage, Thanks!

Ycore,
NICE setup! Can you post some pics of your mounting hardware & specifically, how you attached the Maxspect unit.

Anyone know how type of leds are used for the moonlight??

Another question: Can I replace the semileds with every type of 3W's led or more wattage?
yes you can replace the semi leds to crees, but they will run the same watts.
they will be Slightly brighter, nothing HUGE.

Thanks. I'll see if I can get some pics tonight. I basically modded the CAD Light tree, using a single arm out of teh supplied two. I had two 1/8" thick aluminum bars made that stretch from one side of the fixture to the other, drilled with holes that match the holes used for hanging. Then I simply bolted these to the lamp tree.

It's about 10" above the tank. The thing is brite as hell, but I am somewhat worried about par readings towards the middle and botton of the tank (even if it looks brite). The problem is should I lower it any more, tank maintenance will become a real pain, as the height of the fixture is not easily adjustable with the CAD stand. I plan on keeping SPS and LPS.

I have a build thread over on Nano-Reef.com in the member's aquarium section. The aquaroche really are great. Very porous and allowed me to do some wacky 'scaping without the need for drills, rods, and glue. If you get the CAD, my only suggestion is get the tank, and maybe the stand and sump.. Stay away from the actual electrical gear like lights, fan, pump, etc..

Wow! Nice growth. I can't get anywhere near that type of growth under my T5s. I just wish the tank mount went left to right instead of front to back.

Ycore. I understand. I ordered the G2-160w because I wanted to have it elevated from the tank(almost exactly the way yours is setup, yours looks very nice) and still be able to keep SPS in the lower half of the tank. Ok yeah, I plan on getting an Elos Mini.

It depends on the length of your tank. The rails can extend from 19" to 33".

Manuel, Very nice tank! What is the size of your tank and and wattage of your G1 and how many G1 did you use to cover your tank?

oops! I should have looked. Sorry. 400 total watts of LEDs for a 80g tank! That's impressive. How do you like the 180W? I understand it only has 4x30W white + 14x 3W blue + 4x 3W violet and no 3W white. The 30W LEDs should give you good penetration for your bottom corals. How do you like the color?

Can anyone confirm or have ideas to make the tank mounting rails go from this...

to this...

Mounting the fixture front to back is not an option nor is hanging it. My tank opening is 24 long by about 16 deep and there are parts of the filtration in the rear that would interfere with the rails if mounted front to back. I am looking for a more typical tank mounting bracket like you would find on a TEK or Aquatic Life.
