The tank looks really good. The bulb combo you have is exactly what the Grim Reaper suggested for a six bulb fixture if you don't want it to look really blue.
I am really surprised with 4 Blue+ it doesn't look really blue. I think I will use the same combo when I set up a tank next year. |

Congratulations, your tank looks amazing and very clean.
What do you have as CUC? And what is your maintenance routine?

I might have missed it, but what type of stand is that and where did you order it from?

Rock question
Hey Love your 57 Rimless!! I have question I'm having a vey similar one built and am thinking of adding mark rock. I know you said you only used half from marco and the other from your other rock. If your tank was 100% dry rock how much would it take to get that volume of rock look? Im trying to figure out how much rock to order and i have never ordered dry rock b4. Thanks

100% Marco I would guess about 40-45 lbs.

What sort of paint did you use on your tank? I've never painted a tank before, but I'm considering it. My only concern is that it just seems rather permanent.. Would it scrape off later if you wanted to take it off or change the color?
Awesome tank btw. |

i painted my illuminata as well. Very easy, but can't see every removing it. I'm assuming a paint removal solvant its possible, but would be a PITA.
I used Krylon flat black spray paint for mine (at home depot) - looks great IMO. |

Good looking tank. I couldn't decide whether or not to paint the back of mine. I figured it would be easier to paint it later, than to 'unpaint' it later.

^ What kind of pipe did you use for your drain? Looks flexible. Also how did you attach it to the 90 out of the back of the tank? PVC cement? How quiet overall is the sump/pluming the way you configured it? I'm designing my Illuminata 57 setup nearly exactly like yours. Hope you don't mind |

That pipe is called "spa flex". It's basically flexible PVC like pipe.

Yep it's spa flex, it glues together just like normal Pvc. I used a glass-holes.com overflow, and the 90 you are seeing is part of their kit and us part of the bulkhead. It screws together.

Yes its very quiet, you have to fine tune it a little but once you find the sweet spot its great.

Where did you order the stand? I need to order one all anyone has here is those pine stands and or pressed wood. One place has some nice stands but they are so way overpriced. Your stand is a R&J enterprise stand I believe.
