after make that 'desk' to my office, I started to work on tank stand. As I said previously it will be in iron - it's heavy, over engineered, could handle two cars on it, wouldn't have it any other way - we're talking about 2" x 2" x 1/8" thickness.

I built the stand on my backyard, so bring it inside the home-office room was a PITA

I used this products to paint the stand, from the left: this first product prevents rust - three coats, in the middle is the primer - just one coat, the third is an automotive tint - 3 coats and the last one is a solvent for tint:

from the right to the left: first one will be used for salt water (comes by gravity), the middle is to fresh water and the last one is a backup.

• plywood to cover the stand and canopy;
• iron and plywood for another stand to hold quarantine and frag tanks;

• glass or acrylic (TBD) for sump;

I love the dining table with the emphasis on actually looking at the tank. So many builds I see treat the tank like a picture frame in an odd wall in the room that people walk past but never spend any time looking at. Great set-up!

hey Guys,

Good news, yesterday I bought a good RO/DI system and almost forgot to tell you.

I talked with Jim from The Filter Guys - www.thefilterguys.biz and we decided about a SIX STAGE RO/DI system plus one 'pre-stage'

The choice was a water saver model (think green !!! ) the "OCEAN REEF MISER SIX STAGE RO/DI 150 GPD", this system uses wastewater from the first membrane to feed the second membrane. As the results show wastewater was greatly reduced and the best results were seen with increased pressure and tapwater temps in the 60's. The after RO TDS using this system is little more then double from one membrane.

Results:

65 PSI ENTERING FIRST MEMBRANE

Two 75 GPD FilmTec membranes in series
One 75 GPD flow restrictor
Tapwater temp 64 degrees
Tapwater psi 69 before entering filter housings
Tapwater TDS 59 ppm
TDS entering DI 2 ppm
DI Water TDS 0
Production Water 1 gallon 10.45 minutes
Wastewater 6.5 quarts
Production Water 5.58 GPH or 133.92 GPD
Wastewater 9.07 GPH or 217.62 GPD

thank you for come along! I really appreciate your comments and suggestions! regarding this setup i'll appreciate any critics, suggestions, doubts coming from you!

Matt "d3hree" (from Matt's 5000ltr Display) and dahenley show some concerns about drill the bottom of tank and suggest some alternatives about closed loop system. If you have time, get back to the earlier pages (1 and 2) and drop me line about this theme!
