I had mine for about 18 months before I noticed the sound change.

I have to put my ear to them to hear them.... Same at my lfs. When my alignment was off it was loyd as hell. Bit not after adjusting, if noise is that loud. Try a thicker spacer. Fixed mine real quick.

I just setup two MP40s; one's very quiet & the other's much louder. I'm going to shoot a video and post it on the EcoTech forum to see if this is normal.

there's a little noise when the pump is at it's max, but it's nothing unbearable.

Two MP40's would definitely offer more flexibility. You could play around with their placement as well as the sync/anti sync modes.

The sync/anti sync modes are really a nice option that's hard to duplicate with just one pump.

2x40es=$800; 1x60es=$600. There are pros and cons to each. 40s let you have maximum control. 60es is cheaper and takes up only 1 space in your tank.

I've got 4 mp40's going on my 150 (72x24x20). Bought them all used, bought the kit off vortec for each one, only one that's "loud" is the one I replaced the dry side bearings on with ceramic ones. Gonna order normal abec 9, NON ceramic next time and see if it fixes it.

fantastic pumps, no heat added, small footprint, awesome modes, wireless, the best customer support in the business, and amazing resale value. What more could you ask for!?
