So the salinity is going to be spot on match after a little more water is added.
Bigger issue is the temp. I'm at 74.5 with a couple heaters. Heating that huge mass of water is slow. House temp is about 71. So, no half measures. So I added more heaters... Terminator approves of the extra energy after photo bombing. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

The lights were a PITA. Found an air duct above a mount point. So, added a 2×4 across for now to bypass it. About to plug them in, need another circuit though. With all the heaters prolly trip a breaker... Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

Very nice. Turn them lights on and see if they help heat it up too.

Going need a nuclear reactor soon. Soooo, I just added another gfci to another circuit in the basement. Factoring the bathroom that's three 15 amp circuits to split the load of everything to, plus standard usage down here. Anyway, to the displeasure of my neck and back. Lights soon, hope they work lol. Haven't touched them since a test early November

Good idea for later! Temp is up to 76... It'll get there, eventually.
Made a makeshift power panel mounting board and we have light. Well, one for now lol. Using an Apex energy Bar w/o the Apex setup. Also, first casualty. So figured out a solution to the neck and back issues. Get another body part to hurt more. Crushed my nail bed right in half. Remember that ice cold tap water. Savior! Plus, pain meds... Good time for a break lol. Need to recruit the family to finish up for the day. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

And more lights. Haven't hooked up the controller yet. Lights are default 80%. I'll worry about the T5s in a month or two.

I fired up the return and ran out of water in the sump. Oops, need to add more water lol. I need to calculate heating wattage. I think adding chilled RO/DI is combating my efforts. Thermodynamics for the win!

Ohh yes, I agree.
100g of 100 degree water and mix in 100g of 70 degree water and you will get 85 degree water. Temperature goes to cold quicker. Just saying.

Close, everything little snowballs into 3 more things. Lights good now, temp and salinity are a close match. Return pump is up and running. Going to start acclimation this afternoon.

Adding the fish really helped put a perspective to size. Time to start buying and quarantining fish.
Thinking of couple of skunk clowns for haddoni, and a pair of yellow tangs. Going to hold off a bit on corals until I get the top off, skimmer, Apex and such setup. The T5 lights will also help balance out the light. On the photos, the phone camera is really picking up the higher rocks. Eventually, want to get Mags and Gigs up there. Need a solution for the haddoni, got him in a glass bowl of sand. Maybe make him a permanent acrylic sandbox. So far, so good.

So have a pair of cute orange skunk clowns in the QT along with a royal gramma. Starting simple and slow. Next fish batch in Feb, thinking of the yellow tangs. Odd number seems to be preferred, so 3 it is.
So figured out the right height for the skimmer. 3D printing a stand for it. Had some spare filament around, HIPS. Let's see how the design works.

Tunze ozmolator hooked up. Gotta say, it does make life easy. Going to buy a 55g petco tank and use that as the ATO resovior. $1 a gallon FTW. It fits underneath the stand, in the other half with room to spare. Safe to say, all the space will eventually be used.
Here's the 3D printed stand. 7 x 7 x 7.5, can't believe I haven't printed tank parts sooner. Next up, custom probe and heater holders. I can keep them stable and the heater top out of the water.

How hard is it to design stuff to print? I'm starting to get curious but have no experience with that kind of stuff

I'm using a Taz 5 from Lulzbot to print. All open source. Can even 3D print to upgrade itself.
