OK, so after looking for a suitable solution that would work for mounting my lights using the 80/20 #10 slotted aluminum I found that using the including mounting hardware all I needed was a pan head screw with a 6mm thread and a length of 10mm.
Photos of the mounting will follow. |

This was my first attempt with a screw that was too long: Here are the pieces mounted: Last edited by Anim8me2; 09/28/2013 at 07:50 PM. |

I just got my two mitras on Friday, unfortunately I havent got a tank for a few weeks....
I'm resorting to lighting the living room ha ha I've had a look at the software and it looks very complicated, are there any guides as to how to program it? |

I have done the upgrade and it is very easy and straightforward.
It was actually very cool to have a good reason to open up the lights and see how they are put together. I upgraded 3 units and it probably took me an hour.

Swapping out the LED pucks is very straight forward. This link* may help as it shows several pics of a Mitras unit in various stages of disassembly.
@Anim8me2 nice job with the 80/20 kit. *For some reason the link is blocked? Replace the asterisks with r e e f b u i l d e r s and it should work.

I can't wait for the Wi-Fi usb dongle to be released I think I'm going to wear out the usb port showing all my friends the light
It'll be so much easier to use Wi-Fi. Anyone have a release date for the Wi-Fi PC adapter? Doesn't need to be in the US I have no problem ordering direct from overseas. |

I will post a release date asap, i know they are fine tuning the firmware for this.
GHL products can only be ordered from the USA or Canada due to regulations and product differences.

I'm considering upgrading my lighting from halides to LEDs and I have narrowed it down to mitras and radion pros. My main concern is that I use an apex controller and I know that I will be able to control the radions in the near future. Is it possible to control the mitras with an apex? For all you apex owners, how do you control your mitras?

There is nothing really confirmed about either fixture being controlled like this, one of the biggest reasons would be the immense amount of software re writing.
For now all Mitras users would use the dedicated Mitras software for control which soon will be integrated into the ProfiLux controller software. Also the Mitras very soon will have their ProfiLux controller mitras wifi expansion launched that will enable control through any smartphone or internet connection to the GHL webrowser, this really is the best way to make sure you get all the features available to you that the light offers through a controller. For those that dont have (boy you are missing out ) a ProfiLux then the hub will be available.. Both GHL and Ecotech are moving towards having all propitiatory products connected together, which make far more sense. There are mitras and Profilux controller pack deals available with the wifi card also.

it will be in browser format which can be used by any operating system, everyone is moving away from installed software.
Before the new year is the target date I believe along with the hub.
