No, the wrasses should be fine with your cleaner shrimp. I never use or advocate hermits for a variety of reasons. I strongly prefer a variety of snails and related (such as fighting conch) so I can customize their clean up abilities.

I find a variety is good. Nassarius snails (which while great at scavenging, also stir the sand), turbo, fighting conch (technically not a snail but similar), etc. Since you upgraded to a larger tank, in the long run, you should consider upgrading your CUC as well.

Fish wish list You are only going to be able to do one tang for long term viability in this sized tank. Reef Central's recommended tank sizes for tangs can be found here. As you can see, of those you are desiring, only the purple would be suitable.

Achilles tang needs a larger (longer) tank

Purple tang

Pink squared Anthias (1male) (3females)

2 picaso clowns

Clown Fairy wrasse

Blue dot jaw fish needs cooler temperatures (72-75F) for long term survival. (Remember they are collected in the sea of cortez)

Hippo tang needs a much larger (longer) tank

I want to start a 29 gal biocube with a pair of ocellaris clowns and a valentini toby(puffer). Is this doable in a 29?

I would also like to have some mushrooms and zoas. Not sure if the puffer will nip them.

I know no shrimp with it. What, if any, clean up crew could I have with the puffer?

No. Both are highly territorial and your tank is not long enough.

That should work. I always suggest a variety of snails and no crabs.

I do not provide advice community tanks which would contain tank mates that can eat other tank mates. Best to post your question in the aggressive fish forum

yes. I would not keep crabs, however, and would opt for snails.

no list provided. However, in a 8x2x2 tank the fact the flasher wrasses eat copepods is irrelevant.

That should be fine. Wait until the tank is 9 month mature until introducing the mandarins. I don't know that I would do 9 dartfish . . .

I've heard they school and most keep small schools of the zebra dart fish... Do they have some behavior I should be worried about?

If you are expecting schooling behavior, I suspect you will be disappointed.

Not so much schooling, but I assume (correctly or incorrectly) that it's better for socially schooling/shoaling fish to have like company?

Is nine a lot? To much? Just curious as to why?

Back to the original list. It 2 blond nasos to much?

For anthias, it would work well assuming multiple feedings per day.

Is nine a lot? To much? Just curious as to why? no behavior issues, I just would not do it.

yes

hey guys, i have an algae problem also, except i have like.. green algae growing on the surface of my liverock, and i want it to stop before it gets out of hand, also i have alot of brown algae all over, i water changed last night and scrubbed the walls clean, and today ... more brown algae.. will the "algae blenny" aka lawnmower blenny http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...3+94&pcatid=94 take care of this? Please help, this algae is making the tank look bad. (20 gallon tank). also i have four fish in there, they are one nemo clown fish, 1 blue spot puffer, 1 azure damsel, and 1 purple dottyback. heres my concern, will the dottyback and the blenny get along? if not i can easily take the dottyback back to the LFS. since hes a bit mean to my damsel.

You have too many fish, all of which are potentially aggressive, in too small a tank. Your problem sounds like over feeding (by the way)
