I'd like to know what those little star things are also. About a month about I had about 6 in one of my tanks but haven't seen them lately.

TheKman, looks like a hydroid jellyfish. Common in new tanks, the population willl boom then die out.
Dustin, you are correct on the ID. It's fine. Great pic, by the way.

Great thread as there are not that many sources out there with a lot of the pests/critters outlined....

Ball anemone. Most people say they aren't as bad as aiptasia & don't spread as fast, but I'm having a huge battle in my tank that I seem to be losing, from one a year ago to at least over 30 (that I can see to count & who knows what's in the caves & the back) now in my 55. Opinions may vary, but I say kill it with fire now.

If it helps any, yours looks prettier than mine LOL. They aren't truly anemones, but psuedocorynactis, which puts them closer to mushrooms. Still invasive, IME. At least mine have been, anyway. I've now tried 4 things to kill them in the tank & I've only succeeded in killing one for sure. The rest came back either immediately or within a day.

Spirals are spirorbid worms (featherdusters).
Thanks, cloak, was on my phone & couldn't see pics well enough to answer.

Aptasias?
Are these Aptasias? I bought some Aptasia-X and got rid of all of the other Aptasias on this rock. These are on I think old coral attached to the live clam that came on my LR I got when I first established my tank.

Those look like ball tip anemones. Some consider them a pest some don't.

I'm not sure if they have a stalk or if the just are growing out of that old coral. But I have an orange ball anemone that looks similar minus the stalks. Try looking them up. I attached a pic mine close to the clam on a rock. Sorry bad quality I just was on tablet and used my tablet to take pic. uploadfromtaptalk1344289989665.jpg

Cymonous, looks like hidden cup coral.
Steve718, could be, though it's awfully curvy. Might be better off starting a thread in "Other Inverts" asking for a snail ID. There are a couple of experts out there that should be able to help.

Hello, i am new to posting in the forum so i hope this is acceptable and in the right place.
I found these cruising around the base of the flesh on my hammer coral. Also found little clutches of eggs there. The big one is 2.5-3 in long and they are mostly flat. They respond and move quickly when i touched them with the tip of a pen. Any idea what they could be? |

Looks like some sort of flatworm, possibly a planarian but cannot confirm with the picture.

I was leaning towards a flatworm as well but thought with their size that they might be something else. Thank you everyone for your help.
