Yup, exactly why I went 6000, I have it running at about 50%

The new Jebao/Jecod model is "DCS" which is, presumably, better than the "DCT" and "DC" models. Unfortunately, they skipped the 6000 and went straight to 7000.

So the options for me are DCS 5000 or DCS 7000. I am leaning more towards the 7000 but since I haven't used DC pumps, I am not really sure. Which one would you recommend?

I have a 66g stock from SC ..

DCS7000, you can always dial it down, vs the 5000 you would have on the higher side for GPH.

Go with DCS, they make improvements with every generation. DCS7000 is the same as DCT6000, it just pumps water more efficently so it has higher flow rating. I am running DSC9000 on my 150 gallon and it hasnt had a hiccup in 9+ months of continuous running.

HI, did your 50 pnp tank come with 3 holes drilled in it?

Its been posted numerous times in here. Ditch the durso and go with a herbie. Look up gmac reef and follow their guide.

50G, SCA Tank (overflow weir removed, sort of came lose on its own, and I pulled it, was happy without it, allows way more return flow) I also converted to herbie and run full siphon, silent. Just a FOWLR, might pick up some star polyps.

Fish:
SnowFlake Clown, Midas Blenny, Fire Fish, and baby Yellow Tang (going to return to store, owned almost a year now) Will be adding some more fish, more small stuff, perhaps a fancy wrasse I like.

Equipment:
Jebao DCT 15,000 ( full speed ) , Two RW4's (else mode) Jebao DC500 Skimmer, Carbon in a filter bag, a Heater, and standard T-5, amazon special. Auto-Top off from a 35g Brute Beside tank. RODI Home System.

I have hard plumbing to baffle-less sump

Maintenance:
Have not done a water change in about 3 months, nitrates are less that 5 ppm I vinager dose, water is crystal clear, I can try and get a better photo to demonstrate it. Clean Glass every 3-5 days (almost no film, im just picky) and run a sock for an hour or two every week or two when I do a detailed cleaning..
Feed Fish daily, pellets.

Wish List:
Some Starboard 1/2 inch cut for a more attractive bare bottom. But I'm eyeing a big upgrade from SCA in the future so probably save the cash and let it be.

Do you think I could order just the sump for a 110 gallon? I accidentally cracked it, and now running with a spare which is much smaller. Just not sure if it would be worth it with Shipping.

I had the same problem, I replaced the broken sump with plastic storage container. I would go to the SCA facebook group and contact steve directly.

OK I am pretty excited, I will be taking shipment of my new 150 with white custom cabinet on Friday afternoon. I have my sump, AWC, reactors and rock all ready to go. I also have started a build thread over in the journals forum. I will get some pix up on Friday and will likely be working on it over the weekend to get it all set up.

The herbie and beananimal are generally considered to be silent when you get them dialed in correctly. The beananimal is safer because it has two emergency drains compared with one on the herbie.

Both are considered superior to the durso in safety and silence, however, many on the forums run a durso.

If you have three holes run a herbie (two drain one return). If you really want a beananimal you will need to run the return up over the top.

I use a Herbie supported by my ReefAngel and DC pump. My tank came with two holes. One is assigned as emergency drain and the other provides quiet siphon. I have a water level sensor in my return and it controls the return pump's speed. It makes sure that the water level is not too low, do that the sound of waterfall dos not happen. It keeps the water level at 1/8th inch down from the emergency drain. It worked for me for two years without hitch.

Loc-line pieces

Will I need to order any pieces to get my 1" pipe to fit to the loc-line that comes with the PNP systems? I know most of the plumbing is tossed except for the loc-line.

Thanks in advance

My tank arrived yesterday and I have done quite a bit of work over the last 24 hours. For some pix go look at my build thread:

Loc-Line won't match up to what come with the tank. Just get all new Loc-line from the screw in connector out.

It's a LOT of hurry up and wait. I've been in overdrive mode all weekend, we are heading out of town next weekend and I want to give the tank time to begin to cycle...

Galvanized conduit pipe at home depot in the electric isle, in that one section you will find everything you need to piece it together. The pipes are put together with screwed down couplings, I used an impact drill to get them very tight.

My initial SCA experience

So I received my aquarium from Steve at SC Aquariums. Overall I am very pleased. Make no mistake, than tank is the shining star of the package. However, I really, really like the stand as well. Good build quality. IMO one of the best values out there. And not in the cheap range either. Excellent quality that I would not have gotten had I spent more elsewhere. The shipping experience was good as well, though I did not get the call that the deliver driver was on the way, I did know to expect it in the afternoon. Also the canopy did not have the brackets to place on the tank and thus it would come all the way down. No biggie, I will just use a 2X2 and make some brackets myself, as I mentioned on my build page I will need to make some adjustments to the canopy anyway. Also there was no return pump. I'll need to contact Steve about this. I am using a different return pump anyway, but I can always use a good submersible water pump. I did use some of the green tubing and also the loc lines, but the durso drain was tossed. Here are some other musings I made from my blog.

1. The custom stand build quality is excellent, I highly recommend going with that over the MDF standard stand.
2. I am loving the sand. I chose caribsea ocean direct reef grade. I really like the particle size and the larger chunks are cool as well.
3. The neptune WAV powerhead are the real deal, if you have an apex, they are a no brainer. Too bad you HAVE to have an apex.
4. Plumbing is hard, glad I don't do that for a living.
5. The canopy that came with the stand will not go on if your stand and tank are flush to the wall. I will do a little wood working with mine to make it work and look nice. For safety reasons I did not want the tank off the wall, also I don't think it looks as nice. I am happy to customize the canopy to my liking for this.

Plumbing supplied by SCA

Can't speak for others, but the green 1" tubing supplied with my system has been a problem. It's too rigid for proper installation for the return pump connection and it has a curve which is difficult to deal with. It would constantly reposition my return pump and move it in contact with the glass of the sump which is not good. I finally gave up on using it and ordered the White Soft Silicone Tubing from BRS. Just my 2¢.

Super quick bulkhead question...assuming slip / slip

Which abs ones do we need??
- slip x slip
- slip x thread
- thread x thread
- thread x slip

Edit: yea I wasn't thinking, obviously slip for inside the overflow, and slip for the pipes going to sump. (been a LONG weekend)
