hey makoj,

fantastic clam pics. I want a teardrop now!!

Is that a maxima in the last pic?? doesn't quite have the ridges on the side of the clam similar to others? I can't quite tell. Absolutely beautiful!!

Thanks

Great thread! Awesome collection of photos.

Happy to report the two clams pictures attributed to me are of clams I still have, a couple years later. Interestingly enough, the crocea has changed quite a bit in appearance. It's lost most of its grey. I'll see if I can do a "then" and "now" sequence on it.

Here are some additional photos I can add to this thread:

.. And on the topic of clams in public aquariums ... these pictures are a couple years old now, but FWIW, these are some pics I got of a couple clams in Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX:

Nice work, The clam you pictured of mine back on page one is now 13 years old. It is about 12" in length. It was about 3" when we got it. Oh also it is a squamosa kept majority of its life under pc lighting, them halide for awhile and now under T5's... Hope it is around another 13 years......

Ehem....the "hairy clam" attributed to me on the 2nd page is not mine but should be attributed to Dustin Dorton of ORA
Here is an older pic of some of my clams:

Ok now compare the clam to the conch 10 months ago. Approx 5" growth in 10 months. And who says T5 lighting isn't good for clams? Yes it is the same clam!

Heres a bad pic of my clams, I don't know what the one on the left is, but the one on the right was sold to me as a crocea.
