Double BAH! I loved those shrimp and how they interacted...
two cleaners and one copper banded shrimp have disappeared in my tank also--even checked at night with a flashlight
I'm not too upset because they were boring too--never saw them come out
My next tank will have a reef like TJ's so you can see more.

don't even go there---you are a super reefer and have done everything right---plus now you (and some of us) are even more prepared because of your posting.

Oh yeah... broke down and removed ALL the cyano manually yesterday with a net, and sucked the remaining patches out with a turkey baster... I just can't look at my tank with puple sand.

Anyway... the picture colors haven't been touched at all... there's actually a red tint to the water from all the cyano I sucked out.

It will be interesting to see how bad it came back within 24hrs once I get home.

Yeah... talk about being paranoid though... After the interceptor treatment is complete, new frags are certainly going to have to jump through some hoops before they get into the tank.

I also read somewhere that I may need to do subsequent treatments with the flatworm exit?

The local reefer I'm giving the Coral Banded Shrimp to offered to give me some Levasole (pig de-wormer or something) and instructions on how to use that the get rid of them.

Like I said earlier... I pulled all the cyano out and use a baster to suck any remaining strands out.

Basically, I had a sparkling white sandbed as of 6pm yesterday.

Good time to show the Monti Cap healing progress.

Here's what it looked like after I pressed it down into place about 3 weeks ago.

Here's the picture from the last post of it today:

Looking at your monti cap picture reminded me of something that happened in my tank, but I haven't asked anyone about it. I had some sediment damage that did the exact same thing (bleached a large area) before I caught it. If I keep that area clear and adjust the flow it should heal back just fine?

I would imagine so. My experience with Monti Caps thus far has been that they are pretty hardy... grow kinda like weeds.

Schmejay,

I had a cyano problem on my sandbed at one point, too. I tried basting it, etc. I didn't go "lights out," though... What I did was the same as you... took a large fish net and scraped the rug of cyano off; It clumped together just like a fuzzy little rug. I threw the sand in the sump in the dark for a few days, and the cyano never came back.

Best of luck.

Well first shot with the flatworm exit was unsuccessful. They're back in the fuge.

I hate it... I'm gonna blast it with the red slime remover as soon as I can find it. I'm probably going to have to order it next week though.

One thing I will say... since pulling the GFO offline... my cheato looks SPECTACULAR!!! Probably about time to harvest some.
