Also I looked in the User Agreement found here and didn't see anything about post counts. Additional info may be posted in the selling and trading forum, but I'm unable to check that.http://http://www.reefcentral.com/in...user-agreement |

"You must have 50 posts in "real" forums (ie, not the Lounge, or the Selling and Trading forums) and have been registered for 90 days before you can participate in the selling or trading areas. Our mission at Reef Central is the exchange of hobby information, not commerce, and the selling and trading forums are a perk for those members who support RC's mission. Additionally, requiring a minimum number of posts reduces the number of quick-sale scam artists and repeat, commercial-only entities who are only interested in making a quick buck."

It's really a shame that this is currently one of the hottest threads on the site.

6552 posts here, and never once tried/needed to sell anything through f/s forums, but I have made a few purchases. I'm here for the knowledge, and to help when I can. The f/s forums while being a great benefit to being part of the community are also the most time consuming to police. I'm sure discussions have taken place over ditching them altogether, but RC does recognize their usefulness to the members. IMO you should need to be a paid member of RC to use them on top of the minimum post counts.
Is it really that hard to contribute a few posts to the community. I can see from the redundant newbie posting here that this has become a discussion to pad posts. Instead of arguing about it why not venture into the other forums and provide some assistance.

I havn't read all the posts here, but I suppose there is no real need to as they are most likely all the same.
First and foremost, Reef Central is an online community where quality information about the marine and reef aquarium hobby can be exchanged among all levels of hobbyist from beginner to advanced. Our goal is to help educate people about the saltwater aquarium hobby and enhance awareness of the fragility of coral reefs around the world. We hope you will join us and that you find this site useful. The buying and selling forums are an added benefit that can be used by the contributing members of this forum. Its not intended for folks to come on "pad" there posts so that they can sell, then not be around or contribute, until the next time they want to sell, thats not what we are about, nor is it what we are here for. There are a number of sites that are dedicated to selling, if that is all you are interested in doing I suggest you visit one of those sites. If you are a contributing member and have something that you think could benefit someone else, please feel free to post it up for sale, but this is not a for sale forum board, rather an information forum board in which hobbiest share there experiences and knowledge.
