Yes, can probably even go up to a 24" tank if you have it high enough.

Do I need the Ai Controller to control the light? I think Nano Ai can be control without the controller.

You don't need the controller, but the light is real hard to set with the touch controls, you don't know what the percentages are at. It's a lot easier with the controller.

Took this pic with my iphone 4s, the color of the Oregon Tort is accurate, but the tubs blues isn't.

I'm looking at the ai nano vs the regular sol on a 18x18x 16h tank too. Alittle concerned on coverage from such a small beam. Wondering if sps would grow unnaturally towards the point source or do you think the spread of light is wide enough where the coral would grow more natural? Btw how is the light spill over if any?

I just asked Justin at aqua illuminations today this is what he said
I said I was getting a 25 gallon but how high could I go and support sps.

Not a problem at all. To be honest, We have had a Nano over a 50G (24x24x20) with LPS, Clams, and Softies and everything was thriving. We of course custom mounted this so that it was centered at roughly 8-10" of the water line. If you can do this, I would say go for it. Just a note though that we did not have SPS in this tank. Have a great day!

Best Regards,

Justin

As far as eye appeal and controlability, I love it. I'll have to give it a few months after I have my tank stocked with coral to see what I think about it performance wise.

Did you have to modify the AI nano bracket for the Mr. Aqua tank at all? Does the light sit toward the middle of the tank? Thank you.

Sorry, one more question if you don't mind How hard was it to drill the holes for the overflow? Did it ever feel like the glass was going to crack?

I love the set up and am thinking of doing the same thing in my office. Where did you buy the tank (online, local)? Also, you mentioned being nervous about jumpers. Have you looked into tops for it anywhere or do you know if it is even an option?

I bought the tank from marinedepot.com. I havent looked into tops as I think a lid will ruin the sleek rimless look, plus I like running my tanks open top.

Yes I had to cut the AI bracket to fit around the overflow. This is only because when I installed the overflow box, I left enough room on the side to get a cleaning magnet through horizontally. After I drilled the hole I realized I can run a cleaning magnet vertically. So just as long as you install your overflow close to the side, you shouldn't have to modify the AI bracket. And the light sits directly in the middle

This was my first tank I ever drilled and it was not hard at all. Just don't use much pressure if non at all, let the drill do the work. Also if your drill had an adjustable clutch, set pretty low.

Do you know how tall your stand is? Do you feel it is at a good viewing height? I am trying to track down a stand for a tank like yours and have been looking at night stands as an option, but they seem to all be around 24 - 26" tall and that seems a little low.

One more question, if you don't mind answering. Do you feel that the nano produces a sufficient amount of light to cover the tank? My nano is coming tomorrow but I have yet to order the tank. Just can't seem to decide on the dimensions of it. Thanks for the answers, mic. I appreciate it.

Got a new skimmer today SC65 cone skimmer, I wanted to see what all the hype is about, hopefully it outperforms the reefoctopus.

Stand is 36", it's the perfect height, I can see everything if i'm standing up without having to bend down, and if sitting in front of the tank in a chair, its not to high up.

The nano more than covers the tank.
