so it's official I turn on the power today for good! had a couple small leaks in in some PVC joints that I silicone up.

one problem is that the over flow is pretty loud , not the siphon but the water falling in to the over flow were the return is.
i'll take a video tomorrow and show you. have a couple ideas that might help.
but am open to more!

In the first it is loader for sure. but in the second I get the siphon noise ever min or so, it not bad but does not need to be there...

also most of the noise is coming from my anti siphon hole @ the 90 on the return line.
thinking about lowering it just a bit?
this is the loudest RR set up that have had.... but I am sure i'll be able to dial it in.

ok so I think I have it dialed in, it's alot quieter now...I cut about 1/4 of my aqucaclear HOB sponge filter mediea and stuffed in between in the overflow and the anti-siphon hole.
here is a vid:

much improve on the noise level. Have you checked to make sure the anti-siphon still works now? I'm not sure if it will wick with the sponge, I can't tell from vid where you put it exactly.

Oh, and following

Awesome build! I have been working on a similar build. I read through your thread a few times. Are you going to hook up the 40 gal inline with your 75 so it is one system? Have you thought about what Macros you are going to put in your macro DT? Just curious...Keep us posted.

I have to say Jackson Hole is probably one of the best places I have been, I worked out at Yellowstone National Park in the summer of 2001. It was one of the best experiences in my life, people come from all over the world to work there and or visit for the summer. We spent a lot of time in Jackson Hole particularly at the Million Dollar Saloon, what a great place. And the 4th of July firework show was great, sorry for being a bit off topic but that picture of the Tetons brought back great memories.
