The canopy, is it anchored down, or is it balanced/free-standing?

Its just a stand that is free standing. Its easy to just slide out of the way when needed.

Very nice as always. I actually visited Crestline a couple weeks ago as I have some design work to do on a robot project for the PGW plant there. If I find myself that way again I will pm you and see if your up for showing off a couple of your projects!

Very nicely documented thread. Love the stand and the tank upgrade. Will be following along to keep up with this one.

Not yet but I am hoping. I had a pair bread for me in a larger aquarium once but was not able to get to the babies.

I did a few updates.

First - I took out that diy media basket and found someone that was selling a few InTank media baskets. They were old ones for an IM 30/38 Rimless, but according to the dimensions online they would fit. I would just need to raise them about an inch. Once I got them home, I found out they were the old version and not the same dimensions as the ones online. Now they don't fit, but only by less than 1/8 of an inch.

So I went an purchased a 200 tooth saw blade for my tablesaw, made a zero clearance insert for the blade, and ordered some weld on 16.

I started by cutting the back wall off. I did this by starting on one side and make a 1/8" cut along the whole side from top to bottom. I raised the blade 1/8' to 1/4" and cut again. I repeated this till I was about half way through. I flipped over the media box and start all over on the other side until I have that back wall removed.

Heres is a pic of one with the back wall removed and one with the wall still on.

Only thing left to do was a little sanding to get the saw blade marks off and glue together. I also cut some lift legs from some spare acrylic I had to raise the whole thing an inch. And what do you know. I perfect fit.

Right now I am running a aquaticlife 115 internal skimmer. I am upgrading to a Hydor Slim Skim. I am getting the 65g version and I'm hoping it will fit the first chamber.

Thanks for that.

Do you have additional water movement in the display? It all looks go good, and so little detritus settling.

I have two maxi-jet 1200's in the back for the overflows running all the time.

I used to have two hydor koralia minis that were on my controller. I recently took them out and put an MP10 on and jacked up the flow. The first day I had particles blowing all over since it is barebottom but it's pretty clear now.

I don't know what the limit is. But I can tell you I have one controlling two fans and I have another controlling just one.
