Does anyone know of a 48" chinese LED fixture instead of these smaller units that everyone is posting with comparable features (led colors, watts, modes, etc)? I have a rimless and was looking to get one large light instead of 2 smaller units side by side.

The only unit that might be big enough is the NOVA A8 or the bigger NOVA T15 converted to an aquarium light. 96 leds in the A8 compared to 48 in the A4. You would have to email for a price on it. It looks like the A8 could go for $310-320 shipped. That would save money over 2 A4's actually.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/55...e_18_inch.html Just ordered my NOVA A4. I'll be the first from the US that ordered one, so I'll get plenty of pics up when I get it. My tank is still cycling so it may be awhile till I have coral growth impressions. Last edited by bhazard451; 05/09/2012 at 09:37 PM. |

You think one Nova A8 LED unit can provide enough coverage for a tank with dimensions of 48x18x21?? If so that would be awesome! It's only 18" in length but I see you can order the LED optical lens in either 60, 90, or 120 degrees. You have to post pics up of it!! I'll try emailing them to get info on it. I'm really hoping I can find an inexpensive led fixture where I can use just one unit. Thanks!

JK, your tank looks AWESOME!!!
I like what you did with the rail. Did you screw into the casing of the unit? |

The cool thing with these novas is that they are modular, so you can link 2 of them and only use one power cable for a cleaner look. |

JK like the rail setup, looks like you are blocking some of the vents, any worries with less air flow?

I'm getting back in to the hobby and I'm totally new to LEDs.
I'm looking for a fixture that can I can dim with a RKL using the ALC module, ideally dimming the blues and whites individually. Can the Nova A4s do this?

I am setting up a mainland 30 gallon half round. It is 27" tall an 27" wide but it is a half round.
I am looking for a better led light than what it came with. I am only planning on doing soft coral and possibly lps. Anyone know of a led light that will work for this. It would have to be only 16" wide. I think most of the black boxes are a bit too much. I would like the blues to be on a separate plug so I can use a timer. I may be asking alot but I am sure someone has seen something that can help.

They come with seperate cords for white and blue so you can put them on timers. |
