Sounds more like the sunrise sunset sweeping feature. It will change which one goes off or on first based on whether its rising or setting. Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

When you set up your lights it will blink the lights on each fixture and you need to assign each fixture a number. It uses those to assign the Sunrise and sunset..starting on one side and moving to the other.

So apparently The Director is going to be released in the Summertime. $99 for the set up. Kinda pricey considering I am going to take a loss on the junk controller that I spent $80 on. They should give all the people who bought the vega's and the controllers before The Director got released a discount. Seems fair since we all have been the early supporters and have been the one dealing with all the silly glitches and issues with the units. They should show us some support back IMO. Also they need to put more info out there of what EXACTLY The Director is going to be capable of. If it doesnt do much more than the controller I already have then im not interested in a gimmick wireless device.

I have been running vega's on my 90 for around 3 months and already seeing a lot of growth. I am very happy with them.

I'm considering it. I have 2 SOL Blues over a 65g, but I'm having a hard time justifying $480 (2 upgrades and new controller).

I'm quite curious about the look the new red/green/deep blue LED's look.

I hear ya and it's $580 ($250 per plus controller) not $480

I am running 11am to 7pm with 3 hour ramp. Seems that if I get my whites over 35% my corals start closing and I get a bunch of algae growth. My blues max out around 65%. No red or green. (vega blue model)

I am wondering if anyone else is having issues with higher %'s on the white leds.

2 Vega Blues @ 5" AWL on 90 Gallon Reef 30 gallon Fuge

PH 8.3
Dkh 9
Phos .25

Your Phosphate is really high... how are you measuring that? I try to target mine at around .02, and I change out my GFO when it gets to around .07. I wonder if this is causing some of your issues?

How is my phosphate really high? It is the second lowest color on the API Phosphate Color Chart. It is actually borderline 1st & 2nd color on the chart.

How are you testing your phosphate to get a reading of ".02"? I have a refugium and I run an Eheim with carbon, seachem phosphate & silica remover & nitrate remover. I would think my levels are on the lower side.

Viney... I use a hanna phosphate checker...I get concerned when it gets over 0.15ppm. It gives a +/- 0.04ppm variance

That's the problem... Phosphate color chart test kits are just about worthless... they only show color if you have problems, but won't give you an accurate reading. I test with a Hanna Low Range meter, but they are $200+. The Hanna Checkers decent for $50.

I didn't mean to get OT, but I just saw that you were having some algae issues combined with the high PO4, so I figured I'd point it out. There is a ton of information on this site regarding acceptable PO4 ranges and how to properly test for it.

Being that I am still very new in the reefing hobby I will take your information and learn from it. What is your advice on getting my phosphates lower? Could it be the couple year old sand bed? Refugium mud? I do weekly 10 gallon water changes with Tropic Marin Pro Reef & I change out the Eheim media every 4 weeks.
Is a phosban reactor going to solve this issue? or is there an underlying cause i am not seeing?

Not to get off topic on this thread, but I would start with High-Capacity GFO in a reactor. Bulk Reef Supply might be good site to check out.
