First, I would like to say thank you for this valuable service.

I have two Occ. Clowns, and an orchid dottyback in a 30gal reef. I would like to get a ruby red mandarin. I have a 30gal refuge producing plenty of pods. I am worried about the orchid with the mandarin.

P. fridmani is the least aggressive pseudochromis. However all dragonets are very shy so there may be an issue.

I'm starting up a 10 gallon nano mixed reef. I was planning on either a black ocellaris or cherub angel and a tail spot blenny. I'm haven't decided on the clean up crew yet either. Any other nano fish suggestions are totally welcome!

None of these will work in a ten gallon tank. Sorry.

45g corner tank that is about 3 months old.

I currently have a pair of ocellaris and a pistol goby pair.

Waiting 9 months for a mandarin, also thinking a pair of bengaii cardinals and some type of wrasse. Will this work, am I close to overstocking?

blue spot jawfish needs cooler temperature and gentle tank mates
watanabe angle needs a larger tank
blue star leopard wrasse
hipo tang needs a much larger tank
Dragonet mandarins x2 after a year or so. Your tank is not large enough for two mandarins, and a leopard wrasse would preclude a mandarin in this sized tank

Your tank cannot sustain a mandarin without exceptional effort. The pair of Bangaii cardinals are fine but not a wrasse in this sized tank

Hello, I have a 60 gallon cube with 45 gallons of water in sump.
Existing fish are 2 black ice clowns and a orange spot/ red banded pistol shrimp.
I would like to add another shrimp (cleaner or coral banded) and an orchid dottyback, green chromis and a wrasse (fairy or flasher)

All is fine, but a cleaner shrimp is much better than a coral banded shrimp since a CBS can take fish.

I have started seeding my refugium with pods now, I figure if I build a healthy population in the next 5 months or so I should be good. Outside of that what do I need to do to prepare?

Our opinions differ on whether that would be sufficient.

Hi Everyone,
I'm extremely new to saltwater and reef tanks. My only experience with fish is with bettas, but willing to learn as much as I can.

Here's my proposed set up. I only have the tank currently.
Coralife Biocube 29
Hydor Koralia 425
Media basket with poly-fill, purigen and chemipure
Stock lighting
25# of live rock
25# of sand

A few zoas, mushrooms, a toadstool coral and a frogspawn coral.

Right now I'm thinking about the following for fish:
2 ocellaris clownfish
1 purple firefish
1 banggai cardinalfish

After 4-5 weeks I'll start adding the clean up crew and then the fish and coral over a couple months.

What do you think? Too many fish? Incompatible fish?
Thank you,
Jake

I am wondering if I can have a foxface in the same tank as a blue tang. If so, do they need to both be added at the same time? It's a 75 gallon tank with a 55 gallon sump.

Current inhabitants...
2 blue chromis
1 turbo snail
7 cerith snails

Hoping to add...
2 banggai Cardinalfish
2 clowns (perculas)
1 Mandarin Goby (down the road)
1 Foxface
1 Blue Tang

Corals and anemones as I go. Thank you!

PLEASE check out your intended fish purchases here first!

Hey snorvich, I am setting up a 75 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump, the dimensions of the tank are 48x18x20. Was hoping to add the following fish to it in this order

2 ocellaris clowns (1snowflake,1 reg)
1 royal gramma
1 firefish (purple or red)
1 tailspot blenny or bicolor blenny
3 Pajama Cardinal
2 Bangaii Cardinal
1 one spot fox face
1 yellow or kole tang

What do you think of my stocking list?
