Just emailed Sam, I hope it was him. I am looking for a light for a 30 gallon half round tank. It is 27"tall deep. I am not looking to grow sps in this tank so I don't need a bunk of light. It looks like I will be trying one of these black boxes as well.

I love the look, But damn they are bright. The are 15" Above the water.

My tank is 24" deep and everything at the bottom is still very happy after 3 days.

Im not going to bash Reefbrites at all, They are great lights,The grew everything in my tank, But these are just WOW.

If you get violets on these units wouldn't you want the on the blue power supply so when your day and night lights are on your violets are on? Cause aren't that for adding extra pop and more specific colors to the coral? Or maybe half the violets on blues side and other half on whites?

30 blue to 25 white.
I didnt not buy a BRAND name.

I can buy these And put a sticker on them, Then these would be my Brand right...?

This is what i was saying in a past post, Thats all that these retailers are doing, Buying No name, WELL made led lights and putting thier sticker on it and charging 2-3X more, as thier own brand.

Dont fall for the hype.

Travis, Im used to more blue, coming from Reef brites, But these lights make the tank look like a picture frame, DO not go less the 30Blue 25 White, I think it would be too white.

biecacka, My tank is 72"x24"x18".
If you got 3 units, you would be happy, choose the right unit, (good LEDs) No epistars, and the right optics. optics(120')

Chromey if anything I was thinking of going with more blues and some violets something like

30 blue
20 white
5 violets

I'm trying to copy the boost led unit which is 119 leds at

65 blues
42 whites
12 violets

My ratio x2 unit would be

60 blues
40 whites
10 violets

Clos to the boost unit that I like the color of being short 5 blues 2 whites and 2 violets not sure if it will be the same though I'm trying to do my research

the boost LEDs are 1 watt each right?
My reef brites were 1 W each and I have More leds witht he reefbrites.

Yet the china LEDS are brighter in everyway with less LEDs being 3W, driven at 630Ma.

Right now its a 65 but I'm gonna be setuping up a 60 long 18 wide and 24 tall 120 gallon tank

I am almost postive after my research I can get away with two cause its not gonna be an sps heavy tank cause I may do agressive fish and do just softies but if I did 3 it would be tons of light to grow anything I just don't need that much
