I'm not at the point of buying anything right now. But, I may look harder at the A360WE for this size of tank though.

I prefer the Kessil shimmer and low profile of the A360. Otherwise I would get something cheaper that offers similar light output, spread and wattage.

I'm just using the cannons for shadow reduction. They only run at 15%. PAR is around 250 ish. My sensor is about 8" or so below the surface off to the right

All, what do you think of the following spectral scheduling:
Time Color Intensity 2:00 PM 0 0 3:48 PM 25 38 5:36 PM 50 76 7:24 PM 50 76 9:12 PM 25 38 11:00 PM 0 0 Light is mounted approx. 600 cm from sand bed. Tank is housing LPSs and softies and zoanthids and 1x Kole and 2x Clowns and 1x Fathead Anthias and 1x BTA. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. |

Hello
Have 120 4x2x2 aquarium Kessil a150 over tank. 2 ocean blue and two sky blue for a total of four units. Grows softies without issue Lps is failing Would it improve with the a160we? Or should supplement with 2 bulb t5? Does the a150 have the lower range uv spectrum? Thanks |

So, for years I has run metal halide bulbs. I have always had great sps growth too. I switched to garbage Chinese LED's because, they had amazing reviews. Well, I think they write them themselves. They sucked and I sold them when I switched tanks because all my SPS died. I went
back to MH and resumed recovery of my SPS in the new tank. Then,I saw Kessil. I bought a pair of A360WE's and the Kessil controller too. GUESS WHAT???? SPS crapped out again. I even called Kessil and they gave me the best settings and ramp schedule according to my stock. Nothin. I had some decent pieces left from the last fiasco and they have all withered and browned out. I even added a six bulb T5 to help the Kessil's. I have a green birdsnest left. It's not happy. Nor,am i. Has ANYBODY, "long term" had successfully grown SPS consistently? I'm seriously considering once again going MH fixtures and never looking back. |

I have decent growth and color with SPS including acros, LPS and one sinularia. I have had two 360we on a light mover on a 65 g. Recently I added a fixed and tilted 360 we. I hoped that my Hysterix would color up. But it browned out instead. :-)

LPS shouldn't be an issue with the 150s. I could grow LPS with a orbit marine strip light. Something probably wrong with your settings or coral placement.

I just picked up 3x Kessil A360NE for a 32 inch deep 240 reef. Hoping they work out well. I had to keep all my coral on top of the rock and nothing on the sand bed previously. Hoping these can stretch out to that last foot to get stuff down on the sand bed.
Anyone have experience with the NE lights in a tank 32 or more inches? Curious as to what intensity you're running them at. Obviously don't want to burn anything, but want have them turned as high as possible to get PAR to the bottom. |

Well Kessil says their 360 we' and NE's will keep SPS happy. I can not say for the NE's but the WE's are missing some crucial element. Not sure what it is. BRS uses NE's. Maybe they know something we don't. I'm not sure. Depressing though. I see MH back in my future. I've sold huge 5gallon bucket sized colonies a bunch of times over the years. Kessils can't seem to grow a frag so I'm pretty annoyed.

I have had really good growth under 360WE lights. My SPS are all probably less than 10" from the surface. I don't believe there is any difference in the LED array, just the optics form a narrow angle for depth on the NE

I have not had any issue with SPS. The crucial elements with the lights are acclimation, PAR readings and appropriate subsequent coral placement.

Awesome! Just out of curiosity. I have had the Kessil's since June. All of my SPS that was doing well died in 6 months. I use the Spectral controller. My lights are 7" off the surface. What have you found to be the best ramp, intensity, and color combo. I am genuinely interested as I am trying to figure out how I can stuff MH's somehow. I'd rather grow SPS without having to change though. Input would be helpful.

Also, yes....the WE and NE is in the optics. It has nothing to do with the array as they are identical. WE(wide) and NE(narrow).

I only have 1 A360WE. It is 5 inches off the surface. I have pretty good surface agitation with the Gyre at the top so that affects the light as well. I would probably start acclimation at 35% then work up to 65% over 10 days.

Your light is 19 feet off the sand bed?

Might want to reduce the color to 40 and maybe increase intensity. How high is the light off the water and how far below water line are corals. My inhabitants didn't like too much white light.
