I honestly don't think I could have made my own DIY fixture with the same quality for the price. Communication has been great too.

It's been a very good experience so far. Customer service has been excellent compared to some shady companies like Aqua Traders here in the states. I would buy from Sam and Evergrow again anyday.

I just got the same email and pics. My light is also shipping today so I'm stoked.

I plan to crack the case first thing and see what drivers they are using. I'm hoping to bypass the pots entirely and run them through my Apex. Hope the drivers are compatible.

If not the Apex, I'm thinking of doing the same thing with an Arduino controller (Typhon). Should still be under $300 for everything once installed. I'm hoping the drivers work myself.

I just received my set of LED's from china...Its not a model i've seen on this thread so wanted to share.

77w X 3w. These are 30" long, they have a great optic on them for great penetration. They were extremely well made and i'm extremely happy with the coverage and color with mine.

The coral 'pop' is amazing!

Check out the pictures here....(didn't know the best way to get them posted)

Just an FYI, if they sold you those and said they had optics they sent you the wrong lights.

Here is a link for LED's with Optics on them.

http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs...olesalers.html
This is a really good price for what the unit has to offer. Just the LED's themselves are around lets say $3 bucks each if you are lucky and X that by 55 of them = $165 just in LED's nothing else.

This unit dims, uses brand name LED's, Has optics, Dual controller, etc.

This is hands down a steal. I'm wholesale in the car led world so I will see if they might do a break on around 5+ units to see what pricing would be then.

Awesome thread.

Will do. My lights should be here in a week or so and my controller as well.

My new Nano is still being built and I won;t have anything wet for at least a month or so, but that gives me plenty of time to play around with the controller.

I will be waiting for your input on it. I've very interested in the Apex, so if sunrise/sunset is possible with it, I would order it immediately and have no need for the Typhon.

Would these cheap Chinese led fixtures work for a 24x24x6-8 in frag tank? What would be a good one to look at?

Based on experiences here from people who owned them for 6 months or more, they perform just as well as Metal Halides and most of the time even better.

There are a few different models in the thread. You would have to see which one would be best for you. I suggest a dimmable one.

I can't wait to see some of the nova a6s. I have a 120 (4x2x2) sps/lps tank and want new lights for it. I also have a 180 zoa/polyp tank and am wondering if two will do for that tank as well.

Got mine the other day and i am impressed with the quality. They are heavier than i thought they would be and i love the dimmable as i can adjust it from white to blue and all shades in between to get the exact look i want. Oh and the fans are very quiet too.

Blue about 20%

blue/white 20% each

With light in pic

I have a little pink polyp fully extended
Now time to add some more corals and see how good they grow.

Coming from ati t5's, had to get the uv's!

Here's the link, with 90° optics. What do you guys think? Great price on them

Hey there Customreefer, wondering why you went with the 90 optics rather than a standard 120, or no optics?I thought the standard 120 would be sufficient for any tank up to 24 inches depth? I am looking at one A6, but I am still figuring out the optics and blue/white ratio. I also like a slightly more blue look, thus a higher blue to white ratio will look something like yours.

How long did it take for your order to process and get to your doorstep?

30blue/25white no optics---Basicaly the same unit ian went with minus the optics.

Sam Chen helped me with this one but he gave me a link from his colleague Hendy Yang, but sam still gets credit for the sale and his name was on all paperwork i recieved. It lights up my tank no problem. I have them at about 20% and my star polyp is fully extended. and they go way brighter when you turn them up.

Here is the link.

So far i love them and so does the wife.

They updated the design. The one in the pics right now is a testing sample. The final NOVA A4 being shipped has two notable differences,

1. There are no dedicated on/off switches. The lights can be turned off by the dimmer switches now.

2. The power cords come out of the top of the units instead of the sides.

I can't wait to get it set up! Looks bright as hell.
Mine is the standard unit not the nova but i have switches and the dimmer knobs. The dimmer knobs click when you turn them all the way down and turns the lights compleatly off like the switches do too. But i like having switches and dimmer knobs myself cause once i get them dialed in where i want them i dont want to turn the dimmer knobs to turn them off for some reason and lose the setting. Id rather flip a switch to turn them off if i need to turn them off for some reason and leave the dimmer knobs where they are.

Without switches you will either have to unplug them or mark where the dimmer knobs are to save the setting. so i dont know if i would cosider this an upgrade.
