Thats what i thought from the pics was the white ring around the neck. I hope mine runs that good in my 90g.
My tracking # i got does not seem to work, UPS says its invalid. So i have no idea when mine will be here. Im hoping tomorrow since im in Ohio and they are coming from Indiana. |

perhaps you should consider raising the water level in the body some... personally I think 16 hours of a foam head sitting in the neck is a long time... but again, that is JMO... |

Serum and Cet,
Are you guys getting alot of micro bubbles coming out of the output of the skimmer?? Is the output fully submerged or just partially? |

after looking at the photos again, it does seem like a dry foam head to me. I like to skim on the wetter side. Maybe it will start to break in some. When i get mine i will also probably start on the dry side, dont want it to overflow on me.

Cet98 - Luke pmed me this morning and said it looked broken in and asked me to raise the water level an inch. I did and it is starting to go over. This is my first in sump skimmer, so i had no clue what to look for. Here are some pics. |

Luke probably had you set it 1" lower UNTIL it broke it so you wouldn't have an "overflow" issue... and since mine was broken in when I got it (Luke's test unit) I never did have that cause for concern geez, that Luke guy is such a smart fella!!!! |

@cet98 - Luke had me run it that way for the overflow reason as the skimmer could have broken in and overflowed during the night. Now i can watch it throughout the day and I find myself loooking at it just about every 5 minutes lol. I am just excited as I have never had a real skimmer. |

Does anyone have the Vertex IN-100? I have it on my setup now, and am considering switching over to the SWC 120 and am wondering how much better the cone and atmann pump would be.

I'm in NY and I'm hoping for Wednesday but more likely it will be Thursday. The anticipation is killing!!!! Especially because it will be replacing a Coralife Super Skimmer 220, which I thought worked quite well, but have been told it really doesn't. So I can't wait to see the difference!! My fish/coral can't wait either, they told me themselves!!! |

Add me to the club..... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to squeeze it under the stand... It should be tight.

They usually update at the end of the first business day. It should be on the system by later tonight.

Does anyone put a sponge or filter sock on the exit part of the skimmer? I don't have baffles and want to avoid microbubbles.

Im going to give it a few days to break in before I toss it onto the kill-a-watt and the dwyer... It's got some really good bubbles, but gets the occasional burp.. I want to give it some time to build a slime coat before I do anything with it.... Man, it was definitely a tight fit though..... I had to take it apart and rebuild it while in the sump.... Should be well worth it over the old setup though.
