Thanks man! Yes its been a lot of work lately but I can tell you the tank has never looked this good. I just have to get it stocked back up on coral (buying a few pieces tonight) and I think it will be a lot of fun to watch! I actually have 5 frags of sps that are making a comeback after the tank crash Keep an eye out ill add an update on the display tank side of things really soon!

Sad to hear about your losses, but looks like your're back on the right track. That new sump is amazing, I like how the water flows over into the filter socks.

Nate, very nice build thread. I saw in your video before the crash (sorry for your loss) you had both a Regal Blue Tang and a Powder Blue Tang in the tank. How did they get along? I heard you can't have more than one tang in the same tank. I too recently built a 125 gallon tank and would love to have a Powder Blue Tang with my Regal Blue Tang. Here is a picture of my new tank just finished last month.

The Regal Blue Tang was eating the nori strip near the top in the middle.

Thanks! I'm not entirely sure what it's called. Once it grows in a little more it will be easier to ID I think. The skimmer is a vertex IN-280. It is oversized for the tank but it is pulling a lot out and seems to be working well. I would love a bubble king one day but for now this is working! And yes it's a 125 gallon tank.

Thanks. I actually didn't have a powder blue tang(although I've always wanted one). I had a naso tang(died in the crash), sailfin tang(still have), and my blue regal tang(still have). The two tangs I currently have get along great and I didn't have any aggression problems when I had the naso as well. One thing I will admit is that I did have my tank over stocked in my opinion even with an oversized skimmer and the tangs still not adults. I do not plan on having that many medium to large sized fish in my tank again. I am currently adding a few more fish but they are small. My fish list is as follows:

Blue regal tang
Sailfin tang
Mated pair of occelairis clownfish(1 black, 1 orange)
Firefish
Coral beauty angelfish
Diamond head goby
Mystery wrasse
Leopard wrasse
3 pajama cardinals
(currently have 3 barletts anthias in quarantine)

As you can see I have mostly smaller fish now
