I am not sure what the new driver can offer but with the latest driver available to the public, the light turns very very yellow if u set u light by,
Select the preset K at a particular time, then Select the percentage output To avoid this from happening, I set each channel one by one manually, at each particular time, I spend more than 1 hrs on it (excluding the time I wasted as I forgot to save it for a few attempts and sometimes the setting time will become 0:00 by itself if u don't put an eye on it) These two coral I almost discarded them last week as they looked too pale, with the GHL, they stay |

Here you go the latest software. Please make sure you update the firmware once you have installed the new software. The firmware is embedded in the software but you still must press firmware update and power cycle the lamp. If stuck email me sales@aqua-digital.com

In regards to the quotes above - This is the purpose of the light composer so you do have full control over the output if you do not like the preset. The preset should be seen as a quick start for further adjustment to your own liking. Please see section 6 of the manual page 20, there is good write up there in regards to human eye perception and what corals see. This is also why you see other people reporting on here they do not have or perceive the same. Everyone see light differently Please also download latest user manual version http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/...de-english.pdf Setting back to 12am - cured in latest version Lumens Vs Kelvin output - More uniform in latest version but remember this is a preset quick start it is expected for you to play with the 9 channels to dial in a colour ratio that you may find more pleasing, this is also why you can save your own project to use at another time slot. That's great Michael! Cheers.
Some advise if you have the time. I was running a 8 x 24W ATI module running at 100% about 8" from the surface. I have started the LEDs about 24" above the tank at approx 12000K at max intensity of 37%. I will slowly move the lights down to approx 12" above water then increase the intensity. Am I going too slow or does this sound "about right"? Thanks for any help

Here another mitras owner, I also have a problem with the lights turning yellow, my programme is (all 12000K):
09.00 lights on at 1% 12.00 lights at 100% 19.00 lights at 100% 22.30 lights at 1% after this I just want royal blue at 2% as moonlight. At 18.00 my lights turn yellow, tried almost everything, even doing the programming again and again. any one else has this happening? Today I got the new version, but I can't perform the firmware update, it says it has but when i press general I still see version 1.06... greetings Yvon |

12k is quite yellow so this would be expected, I suggest emailing me for the project.
If it says 1.06 you are loading old version, the software only has one version embedded in so it cant load old version only version it comes with. I suggest emailing me for direct instructions and also project sales@aqua-digital.com

I was still playing and I found the problem with turning yellow, at the channel for the royal blue I had to switch off moon simulation, now everything is working with the new firmware.
Maybe this will help someone else. |

Yes if you have moon simulation on and it is in cycle of no moon or little moon then this will effect the dark blue LED output. This is more to do with the first software version.

Hi, I'm loving these lights.
How much control do you have from the built in control panel, if you don't currently have a computer to connect them to? Thanks And yes, more photos would be greatly appreciated!! Fantastically informative thread, btw Between aquadigital's and Rodney's quick and detailed responses, you guys are selling these things like hot cakes... Having said that, these lights sell themselves pretty easily..

trueblackpercula - havent used them on that high of a tank so cant comment on them, might be ok or might need the narrow lense kit.

Reefmutt- As rodneyri said, the light can be controlled on the panel. If your going to utilize most of the light's features, it's best you connect it to a PC and program it from there.
trueblackpercula- I think you'd be alright with one fixture unless you have corals at the very front and back of the tank, then you'd need two. If you plan to keep a good amount of coral on the sandbed, you may want to get the fixture with the narrow beam reflector. According to GHL's website, this option will give you about 31.5" of light penetration. Each fixture consumes 170w/190w, depending on what mode you run it on, High efficiency or High output. The actual wattage consumption will be vary throughout your light cycle as intensity increases and decreases. Each fixture retails for $1199.

I am at least a few weeks behind schedule due to the 2 storms...
Still working on fabricating a rail system so i can slide the 5 units around to access the tank...also talking to carpenter about building something to hold/hide the 5 ballasts and cords...this will not be a canopy for obvious reason.... |

humaguy that sounds like a VERY nice build. Are you implementing anything "electrical/mechanical" to aid in moving things around or just sliding by hand?
