No. I do not provide analysis of aggressive fish community tanks. You can pose that question here.

Very glad to come across this thread. New to the hobby and my new to be 'lps and soft coral tank' comes on 21st, just getting some ideas over the next couple of months before stocking

Tank - 75 US gallon 40"x18"x24" (LxDxH)
Sump - 20 US Gallon, DSB + LR
Skimmer - Curve 5
Powerhead - MP40
Live Rock DT - 70lbs + 2 in. sand bed

Not sure if that information is relevant but it is there just incase.

Stocking as follows - hopefully:
Yellow Tang - Juvenile (Will move to friends 150 US Gallon when too big)
2 x Ocellaris Clown
1 x Pajama Cardinal
1 x Royal Gramma
1 x Purple Firefish
1 x Green Mandarin
1 x Pistol Shrimp
1 x Yellow Watchman Goby
1 x Flasher Wrasse
1 x kaudern's Cardinal
1 x One Spot Foxface

Other possible additions are below but feel I am pushing my luck on stocking level anyway:

Blue Dot Jawfish - possibly
Puffers - Not sure if possible for any type but would be nice.

CUC - Open to lots of advice
2 turbo snails
5-6 hermit crabs
1 sandsifting star
3-4 Nassarius Snails
1 cleaner shrimp

Thankyou very much in advance

EDIT: So after reading a few pages back I have the feeling I have really overdon eit with stocking. I suppose that is why I am here though, to learn and get constructive critism.

Yellow Tang - Juvenile (Will move to friends 150 US Gallon when too big) we do not recommend fish that would need to be rehomed. Fish size is not the issue.
2 x Ocellaris Clown
1 x Pajama Cardinal
1 x Royal Gramma
1 x Purple Firefish
1 x Green Mandarin after nine months
1 x Pistol Shrimp
1 x Yellow Watchman Goby
1 x Flasher Wrasse
1 x kaudern's Cardinal
1 x One Spot Foxface

fine except as annotated; the additions would not work

Other possible additions are below but feel I am pushing my luck on stocking level anyway:

Blue Dot Jawfish - possibly
Puffers - Not sure if possible for any type but would be nice.

CUC - Open to lots of advice
2 turbo snails
5-6 hermit crabs snails or crabs, but not both
1 sandsifting star will starve after depleting your sand bed
3-4 Nassarius Snails
1 cleaner shrimp

Thankyou very much in advance

A very small tank coupled with a very aggressive fish is not a good combination.

royal gramma
foxface lo
kole tang
red velvet fairy wrasse
solon fairy wrasse
pink margin fairy wrasse
exquisite wrasse
hoevens wrasse
candy hogfish

chalk bass

Specs in signature and thanks for your time

The temminicki wrasse should be fine. I do not think the splendid dottyback will do well with your fairy wrasses. The only one that might work is P. fridmani.

Thanks Steve I suspected that to be the case, but those splendid dottybacks just draw me in whenever I am looking at fishes.

They are gorgeous. I have seen it work in a 600 gallon tank, however.

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However I am always happy to analyze stocking plans for compatibility. What you cannot put into this tank are any fish the yellow tang will destroy (algae grazers), or any fish which require sand.

Considerations:
Box anthias
Flasher wrasse
Banggi cardinals - not sure how they would do with the high flow (3 mp40s)

The cardinals would not like the high flow; the other two options would work fine.

120g tank, 48*24*24 with 40g sump. Upgraded from 55g about 3 months ago. All rock from the 55g was moved over and have already added about 20 more, with 25 lbs more curing to be added in the soon. About 2 inch sandbed. ¼” Screen top

Current inhabitants :

3 black axil chromis (going on 2 years, however since upgrading to this tank , one is always hiding but still comes out to eat..)

Yellow watchman goby with pistol shrimp

Lawnmower blenny

McCoskers wrasse

2 percula, have and will be adding from another tank after additional rock is added, unless I should wait until all wrasse added

Plan/hope to add:

Several more wrasse, currently thinking:

•Cirrhilabrus aurantidorsalis,

•Wetmorella sp.,

•Paracheilinus lineopunctatus,

•Cirrhilabrus exquisitus

Would a bristletooth tang be pushing it too much? Would add last and probably a year from now. Would it be too aggressive with my blenny? Have read Kole tangs do not go well with blending, so not sure about a tang..

Thanks for your time and input.

Plan/hope to add: all wrasses are fine

Several more wrasse, currently thinking:

•Cirrhilabrus aurantidorsalis,

•Wetmorella sp., superb and can be more than one species of the three in this complex

•Paracheilinus lineopunctatus,

•Cirrhilabrus exquisitus

If added last, the tang would be fine.

Thanks for your time and input.

fire shrimp do not attack fish, six line wrasses are not safe with shrimp and are very aggressive; the yasha goby and pistol shrimp should be fine

Hello, could you let me know what you think about my fish selection? My tank will be 125 gallons with a 40 gallon sump/fuge and it will be mostly SPS and a couple of LPS. I will not be adding the below fish until at least 3 to 4 months after I put in my last SPS, because I want my pod population to be well established to support my Mandarins. I would like to stock it with the following:

Yellow Assessor (2)
Bartletts Anthias (3) M, F, F
Dispar Anthias (3) M, F, F
Royal Gramma (2)
Pajama Cardinals (3) or (3) Banggai Cardinals
Mandarin Dragonetts (Matted Pair) only after tank established 6 months to year and will be the last addition to the tank.
Coral Beauty
Firefish (2)
Cleaner Shrimp (2)
CUC will be all snails

If you could also suggest other fish that may go well with my system in case you recommend that delete some of the above. Thanks in advance....

Coral Beauty not coral safe
Firefish (2) only one will survive longer term
Cleaner Shrimp (2)
CUC will be all snails

While I do not make recommendations for a variety of reasons, I am always happy to review lists which are changed

Thanks Steve,

I was wondering if I should introduce the Firefish first to the tank before any others on the list. And I'm glad to see my selection was good to go on the first go around with the exception of the coral beauty which I was debating about in the first place.
