Yes, I see that one, don't see the 2nd object in that pic you want identified. You said there were a couple in that pic. I'd have to see a closer pic of that one to tell, it appears to be some kind of anemone or pseudocorynactis.

Do the branches move on their own? Expand and contract? Or just hang there?

i have mobs of really really long, really really skinny featherdusters with fans on them that i could only see wit a magnifying glass, but they grow in like balls of chaeto and are located in dark places like in caves or tunnels and under overhangs. been in my tank for over a year and dont seem to be a problem

Does anyone know what this is?
This came off my live rock and is now hanging on the glass. Should I try and move it back to the rocks? Is it some sort of coral?

Nudibranch-good or bad?
Pulled this out of the tank as soon as I saw it this morning.
Should Santa put it on his naughty or nice list? It is about a half inch long. 1. Is there any reef safe nudibranch? 2. Is it pronounced "branch" or "brank"? |

Naughty, if you prefer soft corals to nudibranchs (pronounced brank). Genus Dermatobranchus, family Arminidae. All the members of this family whose eating habits are known seem to prefer soft corals or sea pens.
I'm guessing it's the same species as this one http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/9094 and it's undescribed. I know a specialist who would like it (dead or alive) if you'd care to send it away.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to keep watch for more of them.
You can PM me with the details for shipping, I can try. It is relegated to a tupperware container so I can't say how long it will stay alive, I've swapped out the water a couple times today. Quote:

It doesn't need to be alive. If you have 70% (= 150 proof) or higher % alcohol on hand just throw it into some to kill it. Rubbing alcohol from the store, white rum (Baccardi 151) or a high proof vodka would be fine. that will preserve it for DNA analysis.
Put it in a small leakproof container (the smaller the better) with more alcohol. Secure the cap with waterproof tape. Put the container into a baggie or other type of sealable plastic bag. Now it's ready to be shipped. I'll send you my address in a PM. Many thanks --
