I ordered one yesterday (3-21) around two pm. I still haven't recieved any info on it other than a conformation of purchase. How long are they taking to get them shipped out? I seen on their web site earlier that they were back to "pre-order" status so now I'm worried I'll be waiting a little longer! Maybe I should not have been a procrastinator! The variable voltage whatchamadanky I ordered at the same time from amazon has already shipped. Thx

Man, received my pump last night, and hooked it up today.
And nothing. Can't get the pump to fire up and there are no lights at all on the controller. spent 20 minutes pushing the buttons and turning the knob and nothing. So disappointed... |

that's a good idea. I'll have to look around and see if I have one and give it a try.

I am following this with great interest. Just finished setting up 150 gal aquarium. Just sand and mix of live rock, and dry rock.

got mine today too. They could have used a bit more tape i think. The box was one of those with the locking bottom and it was just about falling out of the box. But, it's here!

received mine today and that thing sure moves a lot of water !
but one thing : the propeller won't rotate when I try to run the pump in-line with the holding bracket (ie not at 90 degres like in my videos) I thought the magnet was to strong but even with just the wet succion/magnet in place (dry magnet not on the aquarium glass), the propeller misses most of the time and dont rotate, just iddle...

What's this pre-order talk and 10% off thing? I also received no power cord but I have about 2 dozen of these laying around from old PCs so it was no biggie, but good to know about the fix on their site as I will likely order more of these.
And Steve, funny you mention that because I took it out of the box and plugged it in (dry) and started playing with it and it smelled like someone was cooking something in the kitchen, couldn't quite put my finger on it but there is was. Maybe I should have given it a vinegar soak before putting it in the tank? Meh.... EDIT: Check that, I was just tossing the box and I found the light sensor and the power cord in the top of the box. I had opened via the already partially open bottom and I didn't see that it was just thrown in the box, not inside the product box.

I have been playing with these pumps for hrs. the past few days and I am really impressed. I think they are GREAT for the price. I have two running at 16.5v on my 90 in else mode with the dial turned 3 o'clock and im getting plenty of flow and my corals are loving it. I ran it consistently at 18.5v for most of yesterday which was fine but my duncan's which both have about 150 heads started showing the effects after about 4hrs. I then ran them on w2 which I like a lot. Its like an 8 count from low to high and then an 8 count back down.I would say if you have the power adapter you can run (1) on pretty much any tank 30 gallons and up and tanks 120 and up should run two and dial back if necessary. IMHO I would not think about using these in a tank 90g or less without the power adapter or a controller.
Im about a yr. out from my 240g build and I can say with 100% certainty that if these pumps make it until then I will not hesitate to purchase more. These FLAT OUT make my Koralias look like a joke and they are cheaper. Tunze or Vortech will never lay hands on any of my dollars if these hold up over time. I also plan on adding a controller but honestly if I didn't want to control other devices I would be happy with the options of the standard controller SOOB. |

definitely a great pump but not getting much of a wave on my 72x36x28 tank. I do get a nice swell and some decent movement in the tank. If I can figure out some nice compliment programs with my 6105's I will be all set.
