Mine is on 3/4" glass and it holds the powerhead up with no problems.

I apologize if I missed this if it was addressed, but if you run the wp40 without the light sensor installed, does it run at 100% or 50%?

Steve, thanks for the glass reply. I had asked earlier in the thread and no on was sure about 3/4 inch glass. Looks like I will be ordering two for my 400 gallon.

mine is set up exactly the same as the pic above. no problems.
this helped me with the noise the noise problem. my pump was pointing straight ahead, but like the picture above. it caused a huge vibration - very very loud annoying noise. then i pointed it slightly a different way and it worked perfectly without much noise (my overflow is louder). no flaws for this pump IMO. the guy in the video has his pump sticking out too much. i think its suppose to sit inside that socket-thing just like the pic above.

Same here. The bracket has tabs on it that ratchet through the webbing so you can rotate it like a ball joint and it stays in the intended position. It's not supposed to be operated like shown in the video. I have mine pointed slightly upward and it works fine. I haven't turned it so that it points dead-on straight off the glass, but I will try it.

Having a 36gal bowfront and now building a 55gal I had been waiting for the WP-25...but since we have a knack on turning these things down and with the 13% off I may have to bite at this.
DIYer question...since people are using a seperate power supply is there a possibility to splice 2 power supplies together on a timer and be able to run 2 different speeds...thus having a day and a nite mode? Put into words....you would have 2 power supplies plugged into the power outlet, each on its own timer. Cut off the plug end of both adapters, and strip some wire on both sides of the cut. Combine the 2 power adapter wires and one of the plug wires..then plug into the controller |

I'm going to be putting 1 on my 55, I'll let you know how it is when I get it.
As far as your DIY ?, I'm not sure why you would want to do that the MP40 has a night mode built into it with a light sensor, so when it gets dark it automatically goes into night mode, but I'm sure you could do it. |

Hi Guys,
Well for whom it might interest heres a video of an Arduino Uno controling a Jebao WP-40. Very simple in fact, just programa the arduino to send the signal trough one PWM pin's an connect it to va line on the pump, then plug GND of arduino to -24V on the pump, and there you go! BTW, you still need to supply 24V to the pump...don't forget it! |

Has anyone succesfully hooked this up to APEX? Or is there a link somewhere? That would be greatly appreciated, I am very new to apex, and know nothing about wiring and what not.

I got my WP-40 back from ReefAngel last night along with the wire harness and a PWM dimming module. I hooked it all up this morning and it's working great! On LongPulseMode running with a 30% to 80% speed range I don't get the noise I was getting with the stock controller.
I wanted to sell this off and get two of the WP-25s but I think I'll run this for a while, at least till the WP-25s come out, and see how it goes. I can eliminate 4 Koralias with this and if I put it towards the back of the tank it's not terribly obtrusive. Definitely better than looking at the 4 Koralias and infinitely better than listening to them click all day! I still need to play around with the different modes some more and dial it all into my sketch but I am happy with it for now ~Charlie |
