These fixtures should be thought of as semi-DIY. If you are not willing to repair the unit yourself if something happens or change leds/drivers on your own, you would be much better off with a pre-built unit with US customer service like the Radion.
There is nothing wrong with the standard ratio. I think it looks great. The DIY side of me will add my violets when I get the time, and if I dont like it, I can always go back to the standard ratio. For the cost, I think this is an excellent solution that falls in between DIY and plug and play. |

Been following this thread for a while now and just got my order in on Tuesday evening, which i was lucky to do because it looks like their are not "customizing" the units anymore.
I ended up getting 3 of the 120w 55x2w LED units for my 125g. My breakdown of the LED's is as follows: Dimmable Version Switch 1: 24 Royal Blue + 4 UV Switch 2: 23 White + 4 Violet I put the Royal Blue and the UV together in case i have some people over at night and want to impress, and i put the Violet with the white, well because i wanted the UV with the Royal Blue and i didn't want to substitue any more of the blue's out. Sam did mention to me that they are going to hault the customization of these units but they are going to offer my exact ratio as a standard model so you can order exactly what i had above in a few days/weeks. Man it would be awesome to get these on a controller, but we'll see. I would pay just as much as i did for the lights for the capability to control them like the AI Sol's, can you say violet/UV thunderstorm? haha |

So, here is one for us to discuss.
I am NOT an electrician but... My coworker uses a home automation system on all of his lights, cameras, etc... It's called the X10 system. Now he currently can control his aquarium lights via computer (on/off) and has them preprogrammed. I did some research on the X10 product line and came across this. http://www.x10.com/automation/ws12a_s.html That is a dimmer switch that is controlled by the X10 software OR human touch on the switch itself. Why couldn't we wire our lights through this switch and then be able to "control" them via the x10 software? Am i just dreaming here or did i just find a way to control these LED's? |

I think its a good option. I like that they will be offering this too, along with the 1:1 and 2:1 ratios.

Would any of the drivers listed on this page be a possible 1-10v solution? http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm...olesalers.html

The spec states:
0/1-10V for the input signal. I think that is good to go. Please wait for someone with more knowledge to confirm though.

That's why I listed that Inventronics driver above. 700mA at 50w or 75w, 0-10VDC input. Physically it should fit in the A4 case as well, roughly 6" x 1.5" x 1.5" IIRC.

I'm hoping they will still let you coustomize the novas at least I've emailed sam and asked ill post what he says when he replies.
I thought the nova weren't made until ordered so they could customize them but maybe not. All I know is it sucks and I wish they would just make a standard fee for customizing the units that made it worth there time cause money wise it would still be great for us |

EUC-050S070DT - You want something higher than 72 V max. These LEDs are not going to be 3V each and you are going to need to drive 24 of them in series.
You probably need this one: http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/...70DT.aspx?IM=0

Not to pull off course but for the op...there's a seller on eBay that sells amazing LEDs. From tiny ones up to 100watts on a single wafer. There are 10watt 59/50s and the ones I've used in the past. Which are the 50 watt 12-14k.

Forgot to mention they are very very DIY. I made 3 separate 50 watt fixtures for about $200 after the drivers and heatsinks I made.

I've seen these in action, not too shabby. If you goto their store the higher wattage ones put the 3 watt lamps to shame in way of how deep the light penetrates.
