did everything, I actually went the parallels way first, i can get the ghl control center to work with p3 and all accessories with p3, but can't connect to mitras at all. i went over to the AC website, and nothing there either. I think if you're actually able to connect your mitras to your mac, YOU ARE THE FIRST. because i cannot find any info on it at all, everyone whose tried failed. even the ghl guys have no advice for us. he said on one of the post, it won't work.

thanks for your help retzius, lmk if you can actually connect to mitras on bootcamp, and what version mac osx you using?

If there is an exclamation point on the "com" connection in device manager then double click that exclamation point to open up the driver window, go to install driver tab, and manually install the driver. To do this you have to go to browse, then Program files, then GHL control center folder, then driver folder.

The tricky part is that the driver folder appears empty but I guess the driver is in the driver folder, so open that up and click install. This will install the missing usb driver and I think it asks you to restart. Then go back to ghl open it up, and click connect, you should be able to connect now.

I used this guys website, http://www.123myit.com, to learn how to install Windows 8.1 on bootcamp. He also has videos on how to make a bootable Windows 8.1 usb, has Windows 8.1 iso file in downloads section, and activation code. Lastly, has a video on how to remove certificate to driver downloads. I did do this on my computer but I am not sure if it helped. First try the steps above and see if it works without removing the certificate for driver downloads.

I used Parallels and the GHL Control Center software.
Make sure the light is set to slave mode.

I don't know about parallels.

My connection is using Windows 8.1 through bootcamp. My computer is a 13" Retina Macbook Pro 2.8 Ghz i7 processor, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, and running OSX Mavericks 10.9.4

The key steps I did was remove the windows driver certificate in Windows 8.1, then manually install the com port driver.

I got the ghl control center to work, but it will not connect the mitras. Keeps saying that USB device is not recognized.
I tried installing the driver several times, nothing. Also it doesn't help that ghl has no clue on how to solve this. Maybe you guys are my only hope.
If I can't get mitras to work, and I have to go out a buy a pc just for the mitras alone, I might just have to ditch ghl all together and go back to apex and radions, which I would be fine with anyways. I went ghl because I've never had ghl before and just wanted to try something different. I like to try things that I havnt before, but this is proving to be more headache than it's worth.

In parallels, we don't need to install any additional drivers like bootcamp that's why I went parallels route. In boot camp, you have to save all the drivers then when bottling windows, reinstall all drivers on windows to make evrything work. On parallels it's really a lot simpler, just install windows and then parallels software makes evrything work.
When I first plugged in p3, it didn't recognize, but once I installed the driver I got from ac.com it worked fine.
Is there any special driver to install for the mitras?

I'm using the latest mavericks and parallels 10. 15" 2011 model MacBook Pro i7, 2.2ghz, 750gb hd, 16gb ram....

Thanks but that would mean lowering my light to 63% do you think that's to low for the Sps I have really low in the tank? Most Sps at 17" to 20" in he's from the water line.
Thanks

Yes, for some reason, when you install ghl control center the driver should be installed with it. However, this is not the case, so you have to manually install it.
Open ghl software, click connect, you should have the connection window pop up, click device manager at bottom left, find the ports(com & lpt) & click that, you should have a driver window open up, click on the driver tab, then on update driver, then select "browse my computer for driver software", hit browse, go to bootcamp C: drive, program files (x86), then GHLControlCenter_V1031, then select the driver folder, and click "ok" at bottom, this should install the driver manually. Then it will ask you to restart your computer, so relaunch ghl, and now try to connect, of course you should have your USB plugged in to the mitras, and it should establish a connection. Hope that helps.

Can someone from ghl please answer this one question?
It was said last year end of 2013 that the wireless box for non profilux owners is coming early 2014, is there even such a thing coming out or not? Please lmk. I've asked this question before but no answer whatsoever. Thanks!

This new device is in development, but it is to early to announce more details. More information coming soon!

Thanks for the answer.... Kinda...
So I undestand this cloud based software, but it still doesn't control the mitras until another "in the works" box comes out for the mitras, correct?
So it's safe to say that the box for non- profilux owners that was "in the works" last year, didn't happen right?
I read the thread you linked. But it didn't answr my question about the box that was said to come out early 2014, it just talked about the cloud software and another box this time for cloud..... But I think I figured out what the answer is.
Thanks anyways.

GHL focussed on the new GHL Doser 2 this year, that does not mean anything has been forgotten they are well aware of the need and demand and are not about to shoot themselves in the marketing foot.

Nothing with GHL happens overnight, but just as the Doser 2 has pproved its ground breaking when it does come out.

I know we can not appease everyones patience though, its a balancing act. But no amount of is going to speed up GHL important development, they would rather get it right first time bug free and something that is worth your money.

There are times, in nature when storms blow in that create cloud cover for days at a time, even weeks at a time.. If you are temporarily reducing the intensity of your lights and then ramping them up slowly, I really see no problems at all..

Thanks brother for the quick responses.
I love how you guys word your answers
I'm in marketing and sales too.... So I know
And I'm a caRx guy so unfortunately dosers don't excite me much lol
But again, thanks for your quick responses. I guess as a distributor, I know you get lots of questions that aren't really "answerable" cuss you don't control what ghl puts out, but being able to give any answer is better than none. Thanks again

Now back to the mitras topic, I cannot get them to work with Mac no matter what. And on the AC website ghl is completely done with mitras to Mac as well and just called it quits and said that there's problems with maverick and USB recognizing mitras.
You guys that got it to work, I wish u guys lived in Ca, I would drive many hours just to come have u help me get mines to work. I guess even before getting to use these 3 mitras, I might have to just sell them then that means profilux is gone too, it was only for the mitras. This sucks.
Anyways, Thanks for all the help guys!!

Ok so I have a question and hope to find a answer here. I was admiring my tank tonight and noticed that I have my project set to blue and hyper violet only, but when I look at the LEDs I see both reds are on and one of the whites. I checked my project to make sure and reinstalled my project and still I see the reds and white on. Is there something wrong with my light fixture? Is there anyway to calibrate the light fixture ? Or should I factory rest the fixture and then reinstall my project? Please help thanks.
Michael

I also posted this question in the support form on Ghls home page

When you program a certain led configuration at a certain time, the light slowly translations from one set point to the next. Is it possible that the light just hasen't finished transitioning completely from the previous programmed led configuration to the one where only blue and violet are programmed to be on?
Not sure if this makes sense..
I guess what I'm asking is what's the exact time that you've programmed the lights to be only blue and violet and what time did you notice the reds and whites still on slightly? Maybe they were on their way to being turned off ..

Does this happen outside of the light composer?
If you manually turn on only the hvs using the key pad on the Mitras, do you get whites as well?
Just curious if it's a programming thing or a circuitry thing..
Looks pretty strange to me.. And I'm sorry, I don't think I have an answer..

Yeah but that's going to take a few days at the least..
Having no tank at the moment, all my gear isn't at my finger tips..
Did you try putting the mitra into manual mode? It's quick and easy..
