Here are some of my clams today from older pics skinz posted. My avatar shows them about a year and half ago. The squammy was much bigger than the derasa then, but not any more! The derasa has dwarfed the squammy. And the squammy has nearly doubled in size itself. The urchin is easily 3" across for scale.

Here are a few shots of some of my previous clams.
Enjoy! Ryan This is of my current Maxima. (Kept under 100% VHO lighting) pic is kinda burned out. It is not that electric but still very bright blue. At Harbor Aquatics in their 4'x4' clam display. They usually had 75-200 clams at any given time. Deresa and Hippo (barely can see it on the left) These were my favorite filter feeders. Hippos were cheap and kinda dull but great additions for my clam collection at the time. My first maxima ever. Bought it as a gold for $20.

ROBZ, I am envious. Your clams and tank are awesome
EZ, Thanks, I still can't beleve I actually passed it up once. I got it from my lfs which is a hour and a half drive away. I was there about a month ago and saw the clam and thought is was kind of plain looking so I passed it up. Then last week when I tore my whole tank apart and finally caught my snowflake eel I decided to take it over to the lfs. The clam was still there and they traded me the eel strait across for it. It looks much better under my light that it did there. |

Thought I'd bump this thread and post a few shots I've taken.
Not the best shots and I have no way to take a top down, but thought I'd share mine. My first clam was a hippopus and a mistake purchase to throw in a nano. I know I have a bad picture of it somewhere but can't find it right now. This is my 2nd clam, ~2.5" Deresa that I've had since late Jan 2008. I actually took a bunch of pics the other night and threw several into a slideshow, which I think will work on here. This Crocea belongs to c_stowers, I just took the tank pics for him Last, tank/light information. My clam is 4-5" off the bottom of a 29g with a 175w 14K Iwasaki Aqua2 MH with 2x 75watt VHO UV Lighting/URI Super Actinics c_stowers's tank is a 120g with 2x250w SE 14K Hamilton MH with 2x110watt VHO UV Lighting/URI Super Actinics
