Drop by anytime this evening and bring it by. I've wanted to show you my new fat powder blue for awhile now. Did you get the 30 gallon tank light on a timer yet?

Nah, it just wiggled free. The new black tubing doesn't exactly hold fast as well as the clear stuff. I called Pete trying to get a couple of plastic hose clamps to hold me over till I could get some from Frank. Pete has more spare plumbing equipment in his garage than anyone I know. I spent at least 20 minutes digging through it last weekend trying to find some plumbing tape. All this time I thought Marc was the ultimate pack-rat.

That would require me to get a camera, and then learn something about photography. It's on my list of things to do, as soon as my tank actually starts to look nice. My corals are growing really well, but most of them have turned brown. I think they just plain hate me.

I must have missed why the clams are in a cage, do you have some kind of clam eating fish or pest?

Pete, I'll feed your tank tonight and double-check your DKH with my Elos kit. I'll also run a quick check of all your equipment (skimmer, ozone, reactors, etc), double check your PH/Temp/ORP, and look over your fish and corals.

I'll call you (or failing that Marc) if I encounter anything unusual.

Don't mess up his tank, Anthony.

Just kidding. I'm sure you'll do a good job; I'll have my phone nearby if you need anything.

Jay - there is no telling how things are going to be. I did not get to check anything while there yesterday with everything else going on

I noticed the ca reactor was stuck so I opened the valve more to flush it and have no idea if I reset things right - earlier in the week alk was 14

The skimmer is probably a mess - I never got around to cleaning it

pete, how do you get your pictures to have that dark outter ring? it looks like there is only lighting on the coral being pictured and nothing else, and it looks really neat! iespecially like the one of the coco worm with all the zoanthids in the background. very nice pictures!

Hey Pete, how's your tank doing since you got home Sunday? (alk, calcium reactor, etc)

I hope it is okay. He didn't make the BOD meeting last night, so I'm concerned the tank had some issues that he had to deal with.

I told you you should have broken that window.

the tank is fine - we had a very busy and fast weekend. I cleaned the skimmer and I'm finishing with most of the water change, i just need to open the valves. I still need to check parameters, but first have to run some family to the airport. Then I'm back home for an hour or so to finish up a few things on the tank and to get packed, then I'm back to Georgia for a couple weeks.

here is the normal process I'll use:

1 - on my home PC I'l open the picture in Irfanview, crop and or save as 800x600. Sometimes I'll adjust contrast and maybe sharpen.

2 - download the pictures to Photobucket

3 - open the picture in Photobucket editor

4 - click on auto adjust

5 - click on the decorate tab, then borders

6 - select the vignette/Matte

7 - I'll adjust the border size and strength to fit the area I want to highlight

8 - save the picture and then link it to a response

Pete, do you need this key before you go?

just drop the key off if you are in the area, no rush. Or, I'll pick it up the next time I get home (right now in 3 weeks)

Three weeks! Egads man. We'll have to sit down for a beer when you get back.

Call me if you need any tanksitting help. I'm available to clean becketts, skimmers, run tests, check calcium reactors, etc.

I made it in this weekend and fly back Sun night for 4 days then I'm driving back home for 12 days. A beer sounds like a great idea.

I've barely had time to do anything to the tank other then the minimum (water change & clean the skimmer), but things are looking pretty good. I did carve up some of the Leng Sy this morning to sell for a fundraiser. If it doesn't sell this week I may try and make it to our local clubs summer social / frag swap next week but I'll also have a bunch of family in town (conflicting priorities)

here is a shot of Marcs Unknown I took today

and one of the small chips acro - that's about all I had time for

I'll buy a Leng Sy frag next weekend when you get back, please save me one. We might as well carpool to the frag swap, let me know when you're going.

Have a happy father's day Pete. Those are some really nice pics.

I'll keep you posted as things develop. Right now I'm 50/50 on the frag swap.

the next 2-3 weeks is going to be super hectic for us.

Howdy stranger. Did you get your cyclop-eeze order in yet? I may have to drive up there, pick that up and borrow Kristen for a while. How long is too long?

I placed the cyclop-eeze order last Sunday but haven't heard back from them, not even an email. I'll have to have my wife check to see if the credit card charge went through.

and with you 5 minutes may be too long
