Now I got a couple of Mitras lights myself. Haven't been able to test them properly yet, but so far construction quality seems excellent.
My main reason for choosing this light was the combination of spread and color mixing. At least from reading specs, it seems no other of the current "full spectrum" LED lights can achieve both those feats --either the light beam is too concentrated (causing self shadowing on corals), or you get disco shadows (due to red and blue LEDs being spaced too far apart). The separated LED clusters on the Mitras avoid both these problems (at least I hope so). Last edited by Christian J; 10/17/2014 at 02:53 PM. |

thanks for the great feedback, GHL sure has it all in one sexy package couple that with the linear dimming technology that allows for perfect analogue smooth dimming for functions such as cloud cover!

Not in regards to software GHL are working hard on MY GHL the cloud based control suite aired at macna. This will be followed by GHL-Bridge so Mitras owners who do not have a ProfiLux can get online.
Having said that with the massive price reduction of the ProfiLux controllers its a bit of a no brainer not having both now really. They are as affordable as the nearest competitor and have the renowned higher level of built in function and unheard of warranties or faults.

You will blast your corals out the water if you run a mitras at full power over a 36 x 36, its not the area its the intensity.
By all means get two but the light overspill will be an issue and you will be throttling them right back. I had one over a 36 x 32 x 24 and the tank was amazing

My only concern is hanging it... I have an external overflow. Something 24" long would mount easier off the stand. Hmmmm.... Any ideas?

I had an external too I just hung it from the ceiling, however others have made L brackets off the wall or their own tank rim mounts.
The price is good for another 10 days, but we are now on back order so I suggest getting in very early to get the unit sooner rather than later as I have a pending shipment I can keep adding to up until Thursday.

Need some suggestions on something sleek & modern looking - struggling with mounting. Do not want to hang from ceiling.
