There are a couple companies that now make hanging brackets that you can use on the mitras. Check the new echotech tank mount bracket and there is another just can't remeber the name.

From what I understand with a metal plate modification mounted to the bracket and then two holes with mounting screws directly to the Mitras.

But this would be nice if mitras light can been turn off during thunder storm I got some ghl simu spot they are way more realistic Mitras are flashing way to bright and way to often really. So it would be nice to have a option like do not react to thunder storm |

I posted the below I. Another thread any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the help, I did take what you gave me and translated that into I need a new LED fixture LOL So i picked up a Mitras lx 6100 HV boy what a difference in spectrum and color verse the Radion. Well to be honest there is no comparison at all. But with this come a whole new set of questions that I am trying to learn. 1) Is it true that sps need more light from just 425nm through 475nm range for color? And if so how many hours a day is too much? 2) Now this one is really got me stumped, how much day light do sps need a day to grow and what should the spectrum look like? So I have right now incorporated my lights to cover mostly the bluer spectrum throughout the day. But I also do have from 4 to 5 all LEDS on at 70 % Intensity with the overall output of the fixture set to 70% as well. I guess what I am asking is what should the kelvin be at or if there is a spectral plot for daylight I can copy from or mimic please let me know. Good questions and more projects would be nice. GHL should have a project page on their forum. I've looked and found none, I think these lights although nice aren't that popular and we have a small base in the US. I've yet to come up with a project that I like, here is mine if you want to look at it.

I made a web page for profiles and Mitras projects. There are a few projects there but no one has posted in a while.

ok thanks I checked your project and it really doesn't have much going on. Are you getting good color and growth? would love to see a picture of your tank.

A simple project for sure, not the best growth, decent color. I'm going to load yours this week, see what it looks like since you seem to be getting growth and color.

I used to have a project with lots going on and I switched it for a very simple one that gave me better results.
Think about it - MH, the gold standard for results IMO, doesn't even ramp. Simple works.

My power supplies are a bit noisy, I can easily hear one of them hum 10 feet away. Is that normal?
The lamps hum too, not as much as the power supply but louder than the fans. |

All power supplies can make a certain amount of noise, without being in the oom it is impossible to say whether it is making more noise than normal.
All I can say is in over 2 years of production we have never had a single warranty power supply, the meanwells are bullet proof, but if it is a concern contact your countries distributor and they will of course look into it for you

Power supply shouldn't make any noise. Light is virtually silent as well. Of all the leds I've owned, the mitras is the quietest one. The fixture itself, you can and should only hear the fans when the unit is on full blast and the fixture is hot to the touch. Other than that, the fans are virtually silent.
Next to a radion G3 pro, you should never hear the mitras light, especially the power supply.

Now I tried swapping power supplies between my two lamps, which made both very silent. Hopefully they'll stay that way...
FWIW my power supplies are from GlacialPower, not Meanwell. |
