Hi guys,
I lost all my sps,( except orange setosa?) Im tired of experimenting, with them. Anybody who have 6200 model and successful sps growth here? Please post your combination of colors.

Can you send me you ours and I will take a look at it. Sent me a pm with your email and I will send you what I have as well. With these lights the intensity plays a big role in SPS health. I can say since I have lowered my to less then 60% my SPS have never looked better.

Not sure if I understood how the smooth dimming works. Both the Cloud simulation and Light demo dim nice and smoothly, but in my light projects brightness changes in discrete steps at the turn of each minute. For example, if a project goes from 100% to 0% brightness in 4 minutes the Mitras will change its light output like this:

100% between 20:00:00 and 20:00:59
 75% between 20:01:00 and 20:01:59 
 50% between 20:02:00 and 20:02:59
 25% between 20:03:00 and 20:03:59
  0% after 20:04:00

(the same once per minute stepping takes place with longer fade times too).

I am FINALLY getting color back in my SPS after almost a year of experimenting with projects. I have a 27" deep tank and I am running my lights on a simple ramp from 0 to 17000 for 2 hours, 14000k for 8 hours, and then ramping back to 17000 before lights out. I am running at 40% power high efficiency. I had been running a nice LOOKING project that ramped through all kinds of colors and running it at 80% where someone had claimed success and it bleached the bejeezus out of everything.

In Nature the sun does not go down in 4 minutes so we need to apply a bit less of a sudden drop

set midday 100% and 8pm 0% thats all you need to get a smooth curve. If you wish to add some moonlight then put some steps in around 6pm bringing in some 22k colour

No biggie.....some glitch. Anyway, i had bleaching and paleness with a complex program that looked pretty but my corals hated it. Now i ramp 17000k at the beginning and end of the day, and 14000 k for 8 hours. All at 40% power. The corals are loving this and color is coming back. Sometimes simple is best and pay attention to the K values.

Hi Michael,
I dont know if you remember, but you sent me already your files. I tried some, but most of them colors yellow like 10K HQi. I sent you mine, but I have 6200 model.
I still have "reeftech" led`s and had nice 14K look and great growth.

Have you considered that maybe the only issue with your last program was that the whites were too intense? Maybe you could get the best of both worlds - having a pretty program and happy corals by just running your old program at a lower intensity..

Believe me I tried that. I tried lower intensities, i also tried turning down the whites. I am happy with my simple program. I tried to mimic the spectral output of the Radium MH bulb and it looks pretty good to the eye.

Sunset is actually quite fast in the tropics, but I also exaggerated my example above to illustrate the once-per-minute change.

That dims smoothly during most of the day, but during sunset (roughly the last 5% of brightness) the steps become noticeable again, so you may have to stretch out the curve even more (an hour for the last 1%?), resulting in a very prolonged sunset.

I did some tests to see at which dimming speeds (in percent per minute) and brightness levels I could detect stepped brightness changes:

(The above are at best ballpark figures, I wasn't very careful when testing. All individual color channels were set to 100%, with energy options set to 70% at high efficiency. Mitras LX 6100-HV firmware 1.17, Control Center version 1.0.5.9)

the steps are over 3,000 per second, the lower you go below 6% these get less and still pretty hard to detect, but compare that to any other lamp and it becomes evident from 25% down.

my tank is 350 liter, 120x50x50 cm. Over this I have 2 mitras 6200. At the moment I use the program from Aaron. I only have SPS corals. Mitras now on 85% in normal modus.
SPS corals don´t grow.

The weight of the power cable tends to pull hanging lamps out of position, but I found a trick to avoid that. Fix the cable with a cable clip (any kind that holds the cable firmly, I used self-adhesive ones) on the aquarium side or on the wall behind the aquarium. Then you can adjust the lamp's position by varying the length of cable between clip and lamp. If this isn't enough, try rotating the cable's axis in the clip as well. I managed to get both my lights to line up perfectly this way.

@christian: idk about other countries, but in North America, power supplies for both 6100hv and 6200hv are meanwells.
I had 3 6100hv(s) and now have 4 6200 hv(s), all are same Meanwell drivers, and all are silent.

Now that I mounted the drivers inside my cabinet I can't hear them, so as long as there's nothing wrong with them the hum shouldn't matter anymore.

Especially cloudbased services can be critical, so we ask you for your understanding that we have to work very carefully. Nobody wants his tank as a target for hackers.

Q: Do I have to update the firmware?
A: Yes, to be able to use the MyGHL services a modified firmware is necessary.
