Well it's to the point now that I'm just being sent to voicemail. Not sure why, but it seems to me that asking for a tracking number after two and a half weeks is reasonable. At this point if I'm ever sent a working Archon I'm thinking I'll be selling it. I've tried to be supportive of DA and have used their controllers for several years now, but eventually it's just time to give up.

I decided to mess around with the Archon again, see if I could get it connected. I hardwired it, logged into my router to find it's IP address. For some reason it connected to http://192.168.1.9. I was able to log into it through there. I was then able to do the recent updates, so it is at-
Software version is: 1.09.70. Hardware version is: 1.08.10. Package version is: 2.00.09. Firmware is up to date. So made some progress. That said I still cant get it to connect wireless. The setup page lists the IP as 192.168.10.1. If I disconnect the ethernet, connect to the Archon network it says limited connectivity, I go to that address but it times out every time. If I click on Update Archon connection Set Hostname is blank, internet port is set to 80, access port address is listed as 192.168.10.1. Then if I go to wireless setup, I select my wireless network, change encryption to WPA2, enter my password, then hit update. The system seems to lag for a second, then it jumps to an unable to connect screen. Hitting refresh does bring the page back up but it does not appear to have saved the wireless info. Any thoughts on getting this to work? Knowing I can get into it now I'm undecided on if I'm going to sell it or keep it as I have so much DA equipment at this point. I'd prefer to be able to access it wireless, but I do have ethernet where it is located if I really need to stick with that. Edit- Something I'm not sure is interesting or not, it does not list an Archon IP address. I assume that is because it is wired? But I'm not really sure. Edit 2- I got a static IP and port forwarding set up, it is pretty dang neat to be able to access off the network. Last edited by fishguy306; 04/28/2017 at 11:37 PM. |

192.168.10.1 is the IP for the Archon on it's own wireless network. On your own local network it will be different. You will have to set it up to conmect to your network. To use 192.168.10.1 select the Archon as you wireless connection on the device you are using.

That's part of the issue I described above though. If I try to connect to the Archon network I get limited connectivity, then it times out when I try to go to 192.168.10.1. It won't bring it up for me. Like I said, I also tried to connect the Archon to my network while hardwired but it freezes up saving the info.

I've tried on both my phone and laptop. My phone wouldn't connect to the Archon at all. I've been using Firefox.

Firefox is usually good. I use Safari on my iPad instead. When you type in 192.168.10.1 in the browser you should get the name and password entry on you screen. if you have not changed it it should be DigitalAquatics for the name and password for the password. I am guessing you do not get the pop-up to do that. Have you tried a different browser?

Yeah, I don't get a pop-up at all for it. It either just says connection timed out or something like cannot load the page. I tried it once with chrome and got the same result. I can try my roommates Mac tomorrow, but past that I have no clue?

When you hook up a wired connection can you get to the setup page? If so does it show a wireless IP address? Have you setup the wireless settings on the setup page? You can leave it hooked up wired and still try the wireless since both will work at the same time.

Also it will not show the settings after you save them. They default back to blank. So you cannot go back a see the wireless settings to see what they are. Sorry I did not mention that before.

Below is a screen shot of the setup page showing the IP addresses on the right. Ethernet IP is the wired IP address, Wireless IP is the wireless IP address through your wireless network and Archon IP is the IP to use when connnected via the Archon wireless network. Since I do not have a wired connection my Ethernet IP is blank here. The Archon IP can be changed using update Archon conection. The wireless IP is aquired from your router. Hope this helps.

Yes, I'm able to get to all of the pages including setup. From everything I see I can do all the programming and everything else.
If I enter the wireless settings then hit save the page doesn't do anything for a moment then goes to a cannot connect screen. If I refresh the page it'll all load again. The page does show the wireless IP address, the 192.168.10.1 address. If it is connected to Ethernet I've noticed the Archon does not show up on my wifi list. If I pull the cord, type in 192.168.10.1 it just gives me the cannot connect page. |

Thanks for the screenshot. I have the wireless IP, however I have not seen the Archon IP, it stays blank. I'm away from my Archon and computer at the moment, tomorrow I might be able to record or screenshot what I'm seeing

On my iPad when I try and connect to the Archon wireless and it does not show up I will type the archon name in. It says it cannot find it, but then it shows up as a selection after that. Under Update Archon Connection see what the Access Point Address is. This should be the address that shows up as Archon IP. If Archon IP is blank that may be why you don't get anything through the Archon network. I don't think you router is going to issue 192.168.10.1 as an address. That is usually reserved for a router itself.

Hey, sorry didn't get a chance to tackle it yet. Next chance I'll have is tomorrow evening. That said I did finally get the new one from Eric. At this point I'm curious what my issue with the old one is, so tomorrow night I'll give it one last go to get it connected since I've made some progress, if no luck I'll get the new one setup. Eric said it was fully updated so it should be a matter of just connecting it to the network. I'll post an update when I get a chance to play around with them tomorrow. Thanks for following up!

I got the new Archon connected to my network tonight without issue, as well as setting up port forwarding on the new one. So not sure what the issue was with the old one still but at this point I'm calling it quits on messing with it. I'll start connecting modules and probes to it tomorrow, hopefully there aren't any more issue in my future.
Thanks for the help! |

Sounds great. It may be an issue in the Linux side of the programming or some script file did not update correctly. The main thing you are up and running. Eric can check out the old one to find out the cause when he gets it back.

I have an issue with the wired IP address not showing up in the setup page. A few days ago I came home to find the system shut down for some reason. I was not able to log into the Archon through my home network or remote access so I pulled the power and the bus connections and after a period of time plugged them in again. After that the unit powered all of the outputs and inputs but the only way I can see the Archon is wirelessly. I noted that the green light on the Archon is not lit. Do I do a shutdown and reboot the system to reset it and then will it give me the Ethernet IP? If not what can I do to restore it? Thanks.

Are you sure it's not a cable issue? Try resetting it at the Archon and your router.if wireless works and the Archon hot spot is working then the webserver is working. It is doing as it's programmed?

My SL1 is causing my archon to continually reboot. All I use that module for is the switch inputs. Is it an IOE module to replace for switch functionality?
