There is a sunrise and sunset color option on the new firm ware. Anyone try that out?

I just downloaded the new firmware but didn't try it out. I left it at the default option that set it to favor the "blues". Not sure if that was how it was before but I will see over the next few days how I like it.

I am in the beta but have not received my unit yet. They are slowly rolling them out. However from what I have seen its worth the wait.

I have not received mine yet either... On 6/26 the parts store sent me an email saying they are charging me for the director and it should be shipping soon. Its been "13" working days, excluding the 4th of july holiday. So.. its been maybe 10 - 11 working days.. two weeks about since they charged me... I'll give it a few more weeks before I shoot them an email.

Me too ... but no rush. The Director will get here when it gets here. Aqua Illumination has always done right by me ...

After using the new custom pucks for a couple of weeks, I have noticed that the UV LEDs have caused the coral to become more colorful and healthy looking and they make the white stripes on my black clownfish glow. However, my favorite aspect of the new custom pucks is the Violet LEDs during the two hour ramp down ... the color is so deep and beautiful, truly amazing.

I am running 2 Sols over my 105 and all my corals are healthy and happy. I would upgrade if someone could give me a reason or two I should change/upgrade something that is not broken. I just don't see how my corals could be much happier

What LEDs did you choose for your custom pucks? How many?

Do you have any pics?

This would be very helpful

Beautiful tank. I'm interested to see the response that you get. I was running 3 Sol Blues for over a year and am considering changing them to Vegas with custom pucks

I went from sols to Vegas with standard pucks and have been very pleased. No problems with coral color or growth and immediately liked the color of the tank and corals under the Vegas as it appeared to my eye.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the newer Vega upgrades are coming with the "diffuse" optics like the Hydra now. They also have 2 of the 415nm violets.

I have had 2 Vegas over my 90 gallon for about 5 months and I am unhappy with the colors of my corals. Every colorful new coral I get fades out after a month or so. My wife has noticed this too. I don't really want to drop more money into these lights already, but would the UV and violet help keep my corals vibrant.
The lights are on about 12 hours. 4 hour ramp up and 4 hr ramp down. Peak intensities are white-45%. Green-30%. Red-30%. Blues-70-80%.

Only the upgrades (SOL > Vega) come with the violet and frosted lenses as of right now. AI told me that new Vegas would begin production with the diffuse optics, but they weren't sure the new production ones would ever get the Violet.

No. I have vegas and hydras. when the RBs on the hydras are on at 80% you cannot tell when the Violet and or the UV go from off to 100%. IMHO no need to at violet or UV to the vegas.
