Just ordered my light today!!! Very excited. I'm still probably 2 months away from settin up my tank. I want to do it slow so I don't have to rush and buy cheap stuff. This is the very first purchase for my build. Gonna go with a 93 cube.

I played around with the Light Composer some more, but cyan like in the ATI picture above seems impossible to achieve. Increasing the green LEDs doesn't help much at all, they just makes things look greener. The Mitras might benefit from a dedicated cyan LED.

That said, it can sometimes be misleading to compare a real light with a picture on a screen. Cameras are sometimes bad at reproducing colors as seen by humans even when the white balance is correct. Perhaps the ATI light color didn't even look the same in reality as in the picture?

It's been 3 weeks. I don't see any browning sps yet(?) ..

my red dragon grew a bit..

and Oregon tort starting to turn bluewi body again..

ora Purple Bonsai used to be solid purple and after I change the ATI Bulbs it turned to tanned color here and there. that seems to be come back to purple again..

i just ordered the stand from http://www.reeflightmounts.com/mitras-mount.htm

let's see how it goes..~

Joining the club as of last night with a 6200. Hung over a cycling Elos cube. Pics to come.

Mark

p.s. I have the mount from this guy (http://www.reeflightmounts.com/mitras-mount.htm) that I am not going to use, if anyone is interested.

Temperature should depend on several things like power comsumption, fan speed and ambient air temperature, so it's probably meaningless to compare different units unless they use the same settings (e.g. the factory program).

Just received my light today from Michael Hall of Aqua-digital. Couldn't be happier with his service. Every email I sent to him was answered within minites. He gave me great detailed answers to questions ranging from the Mitras light to the Balling Method for dosing. The light arrived after just one day of shipping. I wasn't even expecting to get the tracking number til today and then I have a fed ex guy knocking on my door. I will be sure to use Michael for all of my reef tank needs. Just another thing to say about the lights, every time I've used a german made product from hard wood flooring refinishing equipment to firearms I've always gotten the best quality. That's why the Mitras was an easy decision, that and Michaels great customer service. I can't wait til http://aquariumelectronics.com/ launches in July. Thanks Michael look forward to working with you again.

Many of us LED users, regardless of the brand run one setting the majority of the time. Yea, we all ramp up and down and maybe even have a setting we run for several hours just for our viewing pleasure. A few projects are posted over on profiluxowners.com, however not many of us have uploaded there so I thought I would give this a shot.

My request is…..if you could just run one setting (Kelvin) for most of the light period, what would it be?

Please post a screen shot or your channel settings and if you’re running a 6100 or 6200. Maybe even add some info on your tank and what’s your dominant coral.

Here is my go too setting:
Mitras 6200
40G Tank (36x18)
SPS Dominant

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had managed to mimic a Radium 20K bulb with a 6100HV?

I have tried a few times and managed to get slightly close, but to be honest, without having seen a 20K Radium for myself, I can only go off the spectrum graphs I've found.

If anyone has managed, please could you share your light project, or even just the values used to mimic the bulb that would be great.

Thanks
Ben

Hi Guys,

Been out of the hobby for years but decided since life is more stable now want to take on another reef tank I purchased a tank with these lights from a friend and want to know what would be the best height to place these my tank is 23x23x19 cube going to be mostly SPS dominant.

Also on another subject need some powerheads and a protein skimmer for 10Gal sump any suggestions?

According the manual the minimum distance above water should be 8 inches.

Yes this is minimum to avoid salt splash and the risks associated, but the guide for best performance is 12"

Hi members of ReefCentral! It's my first comment in this forum. I'm an Spanish reefer and an proud owner of 2 mitras 6200 HV, I'm very happy with my lamps but I want to use at 100% on my aquarium (parameters not power) and I'm crazy with the configuration. I would like grow and colour in my sps corals. Can you help me? In my country it must be a secret XD

Thanks!

Sorry for my little english!
